Within a half mile in either direction:

Pocorello's*
Albasha*
Londoner*
South of Philly*
Logan Farms*
Bay Leaf*
Hunan (gone down over the years)
Himalaya (why go here when Bay Leaf is much better)
Jay's BBQ
That Thai place next to Applebee's, can't remember the name*
Waka House is a bit overpriced.
Rotolo's if you have to have a pizza or calzone.
Golden Corral is only salad bar in the area (I won't go in Ryan's)

Duang Tawan is the name of the Thai place you're trying to think of. For overall value, I'll take Thai Chili in the Neighborhood Wallyworld strip mall. I'm also surprised that no one's mentioned Ronnie's Ribs (a misnomer...I've never had ribs there), which is perhaps one of the tastiest $7 lunches in the area.

I was at Ryans once years ago, grabbed the lettuce tongs, and noticed that they were crusted on the inside with shrimp antennae, shells and legs. Instead of putting the tongs back into the fresh lettuce, I brought them to my table and showed my server and asked for a manager. The server was grateful and courteous but no manager ever spoke with me. I wasn't looking for a free meal, just to speak with a someone who perhap gave a rat's arse. Since no one did care, it was my final visit. frick em.

Why have I never heard of this Logan Farms?
I just saw this on Thursday's plate lunch:

I tried to stay in the immediate area, if you go all the way to Jones Creek, or even past Stumberg, there are a lot of other options.

Although I have been to Ronnie's Ribs 3 times to try to figure out why so many people who's opinion I respect like it, I have not as of yet solved that puzzle. Jasmine's a few blocks away is much better, IMHO.

Forget the buffet, order the ribs. Pricy yes but very good. Although it has got a little pricy for lunch IMO.. I have not ordered there in a few months.

I am also a fan of Jasmine's
