You'll be hard pressed to find a better crackling than Billy's seasoned.

Billy's is darn good, but Don's is awesome too for boudin and cracklin.

I second this. Don's boudin is my favorite. It's splitting hairs b/t/ Billy's / Don's. The Best Stop has great texture but the seasoning is different and doesn't match Don's or Billy's. Early's Grocery (right down St. Mary on Scott - 2 blocks from Billy's) has GREAT boudin too. You can't go wrong with either. Boudin balls, Billy's by a MILE !

A lot of the interstate places around Lafayette have gotten too commercialized and it's good one day but not consistent...I know at Bergeron's the same guy that has cooked the Boudin and cracklins for 10 years is there everyday cooking them still. no one else there does it...Him only!!!

Don's boudin was meh the last time I got it. Maybe it was a bad day or something, but it wasn't very good.

I've been to Bergeron's in Port Allen (lobdell actually), Billy's in Laf, and Best Stop in Scott.

Best boudin and cracklins goes to Bergeron's. They have chunks of pork in the boudin, it's not all rice. And the cracklins, they leave a little sliver of meat.

I've been in Houston the whole month of August for work. I've found some pretty decent cracklin at Mexican meat markets. The smell inside of these places reminds me of how the old grocery store in New Roads smelled growing up, but pretty good cracklin.

I'm a Billy's/Bergeron's fan. Best Stop has been inconsistent in recent years. And I stopped every week on my BR to LC run for nearly 4 years, so I've got a few data points.

Hard to beat Billy's, but Charlie T's in Breaux Bridge has great cracklins and boudin. Babineaux's Slaughterhouse in Breaux Bridge is also worth trying.

I like everything at dons but the boudin. It just isn't right to me. Their little stuffed breads are outta sight though.

Billy's for boudin
Dons for everything else.

Babineaux's slaughterhouse near Breaux Bridge. Great cracklin and good boudin.
