It can be hit or miss I agree. Usually can't go wrong with the catfish chips.

Crescent Langing in Shreveport. The owner ran for Congress and lost but he had a great website. It was something like 'throwthesonofabitchesout.com'

The concrete cinderblock place close to the turn off to Charlie's Funhouse right before the bridge over the Tickfaw? That is the only one I know about.
I'm sure its the same one. I was just reinforcing that its actually in Springfield not in Killian like the stickied smalltown guide says

Its not that big a deal though...but their catfish is good!

Way overrated. It pretty much sucks. The best thing about the Spahr's is watching alligators in the canal behind the place.

Best catfish depends on how you like it cut and fried. Some like thick or thin, soft or crunchy.

Good catfish is not hard to cook. I think I cook some good catfish.

If I'm going out to eat catfish, I'm going on Wednesday nights to Big Al's. All you can eat with a side for 9.99. Go earlier and sit at the bar for 2 for 1 beers.
