Agreed that the Thai Pepper lunch buffet is great. I like that they rotate the choices and you can pretty much sample their entire menu by going in on different days. The panang curry is my favorite dish they serve.

Decent choice. It's not as good as cook to order, but what buffet is? Still, as others have said, they're pretty solid on hitting the standards (vegetarian pad thai, chicken tom yum, a curry, coconut soup, and that three flavor fish they do) while still rotating some of their other dishes to keep things from becoming boring. If I'm not ordering Thai off the menu, it's definitely my go-to.

I never knew about El Magey until now. Will most certainly be trying this soon.

It's definitely a good choice. One of my biggest guilty pleasures about El Magey is that I can get a plate full of enchiladas, taquitos, mini chimichangas and quesadillas, and then top the entire plate in queso.

Also, I've never even gone to the salad bar at TdB because I'm too busy filling up on bacon wrapped filet and flank steak.

El Magey. A true story.

So me and my brother went to eat there for lunch. As we were walking to our table I could see two well dressed men staring us down pretty hard. Turns out they were two gays waiting for their blind dates to arrive. I can still recall the horror in their eyes that we could be their dates. Even since then we refer to them as El Fagey. True story.

Do they still have the mural inside that spells it "El Maguey"? What's an extra letter or two among amigos eh?

I would fight you over that

You can fight all you want. If you can't parboil asparagus so that it comes out bright green instead of grey, you don't know what you're doing with vegetables. The salmon is fair to barely ok and the fruit looks better at Albertson's salad bar.

If you want to see how a salad bar is done, Fogo de Chao is where you want to go.

That said, the meat offerings at TdB are mouth wateringly delicious.

You're right about the asparagus. I remember trying it once many many trips ago and didn't like it, so now I just skip it.

And the fruit.... there's fruit there? I honestly have never noticed.

But I have to correct you on the smoked salmon it is anywhere from absolutely terrible to pretty good. I've had some stank salmon from there for sure.

And don't even get me started on "the soup of the day"

I forgot about the soup of the day.. I think today, it's Campbell's.
But with the lamp chops, prime rib, sausages.. all that delicious and well cooked meat, you don't go home hungry.

Had El Magey today for the first time. It was excellent. Food quality was solid. The place was very clean. Every time I was up at the buffet, they had someone cleaning.

How is Sushi Masa a buffet?

Not your traditional buffet in the sense you walk in line and pick out what you want.
You order it off a menu and they bring it to you. You'll never hungry or cheated. Very solid.

Just finished devouring the Zoroona brunch buffet. Not a bad deal at all for the price. Thanks again for the heads-up
