It isn't midtown but I ate at the Downhouse last weekend for brunch. It was great.

Went to Liberty Kitchen last time I was in Houston. That place was pretty awesome. Fried chicken and gravy sliders are one of the best things I've eaten this year

It's in the Heights. Not sure were midtown is

IN Midtown? Weights and Measures or go Across the street to Thien Ahn for Vietnamese.

Nearby-Hugo's, Common Bond, La Mexicana, La Guadalupana, Barnaby's

Lowbrow is another option as well. Cheeto Mac and cheese FTW.

If you are from out of town, or out of town guests coming then make reservations at Hugo's.
