Check out Alton Browns recipe if you are making them. Otherwise, the frozen ones are all the same...delicious!

My kids seem to like Bryan beef corndogs (red box) or State Fair mini corn dog bites.

I don't like corndogs myself, so I can't really give you a review of either..

state fair brand, but ignore the bullshite cooking instructions about baking them. if you wanna smell like corndog, you gotta deep fry those bastards. and mustard only. nobody older than 10 should put ketchup on a hot dog or a corndog.

I could not have stated this better myself !!!!!
State Fair is the best frozen brand, and for the love of GOD DEEP FRY them ! NEVER microwave or bake them, or use KETCHUP ! If you don't have a flash fryer I suggest you buy one it's well worth it. When you have kids, you may now, it will be well worth it. Of course they will put KETCHUP on them

It's hysterical that some people are snobs about putting ketchup on potted meat.

C'mon, y'all. We're talking about hot dogs. HOT DOGS.

if you don't respect the hot dog, you don't respect food.

Drive to DeKalb, MS and have one from the Pure Oil Gas Station.

Sonic is pretty good, esecially with tater tots and a strawberry shake

edited to add:

Krystal Corn pups rock - the very best, but you need to buy three or four and Krystal mustard is really nice. I'd get a half dozen sliders, too

This. I lived in BR for twenty years and had literally two of them. I suspect it's a sixties thing that needs to move on.

Got to go with state farm all beef, must be deep fried with mustard only or could add diced onions.

The one down at the local Circle jerK, anything else is a dog wrapped in corn meal and fried. Now get thyself to an AllBarn board with that question, they are the experts in these matters.

Ketchup should be illegal on Corndogs or Hotdogs.

Did any of ya'll see Dr. Oz the other day? Some woman showed a variety of pig snouts, tails, feet along with chicken combs, beaks, feet, and some beef tails, stomachs, snouts, etc. Dr. Oz asked her what all that stuff was and she replied that those were the ingredients of a hot dog. If you really want to be sick, go stand outside of the Bryant meat plant in Mississippi. That plant smells worse than a paper plant.

Buy an all Beef frank or an all meat pork frank.

If they say "all meat" they can't use that crap you list. It is teh law and there are USDA inspectors in all meat plants.

I would tell you that meat plants may not be your thing, but they are run pretty well as far as food ingredients go.

When in doubt, read the label.

I'd say Corn Dog 7. I really miss that food court stand. Making fresh corn dogs is really underrated. The foot long corndog was great with some seasoned fries.

Beyond that, I really like State Fair beef corn dogs (with only mustard).

The ones sold from under gas station heat lamps have been the best I've ever had. This is often the case with burritos too, and there is no telling what's in those.

And ketchup should be reserved for French fries or dishes with lots of fried potatoes mixed in, or meatloaf. I can't think of any other permissible use of that sugar syrup.
