LINK /

I've had jerky from meat markets all across the state, and nothing comes close to Bourgeois' jerky. If you're placing an order, I'd go ahead and get some of their meat sticks (slim jim type) as well.

What EWE said. Bourgeois is the best I've tasted.

I've started making my own. I have the time and thickness down, just need to get the marinade where I want it.

Johnsons Boucaneire is really good., but expensive. Try Best Stops as well. I dont like sweet (brown sugar) on jerkey... These arent.

Sorry for the late weigh-in. When I lived in Texas I damn near lived on this stuff: New Braunfels Smokehouse jerky. Then again that was 10 yrs ago and daaaayum meat prices sure have gone up!

Woody's in Centerville and Bourgeois' in Thibodaux are both REALLY good. I prefer Bourgeois', but they only do the one thing, a thick jerky, but not really dried. It's more of just smoked beef, really.

If I want the thin dry stuff, Woody's FTW. Thick less dry, Bourgeois'.

Russ Kendall's smoke house, Knife River, MN.

What's even better is their deer jerky.

Bourgeois' is the best I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot. Bonneval's from Sorrento is distributed around the area and is a bourgeois clone. Can't tell the difference.
