Woody's smokehouse in Centerville, TX. Thin cut peppered is the best jerky I've ever had.

The kind you make at home. Other than that Bourque's has some that's pretty good.

RIP Bowie Junction. If you've ever traveled down HWY 90 near the intersection of 308 and 1, you've seen the buildings that look like they're an old western movie set. Bowie Junction was in one of those buildings and pretended to be a restaurant on occasion. They were never reliably open but they had the best jerky ever. If anyone knows the recipe, I'd be forever in their debt.

Yep. Wide variety of flavors. Go up to the counter and sample all the jerky, cheese, and fudge you want before deciding what to get.

The Really Really Good Jerky Store in Sweetwater, Texas.

LINK

If you ever find yourself up along I-20 traveling West of Dallas, do yourself a favor and take a slight detour.

If I remember correctly, the owner told me that his wife, or maybe both of them, was living in New Orleans when they met. They ended up moving out to West TX and have a very tasty operation out there.

Ronnie's on Florida. I have a small jerky field of view, but I can tell you two friends who are jerkyphiles, one from Alabama, on from Texas, ask me to ship them some Ronnie's all the time. Ronnie cuts it across the grain instead of with it, much more tender. The flavor is incredible.

If you're on Hwy 1 heading from Donaldsonville to Thibodaux, there's a place called Vinny's (might be Vinnie, not sure). Dude makes the best beef jerky I've ever had in my life.
