Not the hype, but the rarity that drives some folks has had an effect. My local spot in Walker has had some sitting on the shelf for days. Ghost lasting more than an hour just a few weeks ago was unheard of.

I don't see it anywhere around Lafayette

Does anyone know if the brewery has any on hand at this time?

Edit: I go to Albertsons just after posting this and the 8/10 batch is in stock

And rouses too I guess it is everywhere

Well, this isn't true. Mornin' Delight turnout was pretty incredible this past weekend, like it is every year.

Beat me to it. A few years ago, it was almost as sought after as Hopslam here, but it's everywhere now and available pretty much year round. Still a good beer though.

Seems like I remeber bmoney getting pissed at someone calling him out for buying a case as well.

Cause I only kept a few bottles from that case. The others were for people here. Now I buy one bottle from each release, and that's enough for me.

Put Enjoy By at the top of this list for me. I used to really love this beer. Now it's just a boozy mess, at least to my palate.

I don't have the energy to fight over "rare" beers or bourbons either. There are great selections of both that are regularly available that the juice simply isn't worth the squeeze for the "rare" stuff.

I'm in the same boat here. I used to trade a lot, but since local/regional options have stepped up, I realized how much money I was spending too on trading.

Also, some of those "whales" that I got were sort of let downs (i.e. Zombie Dust and Pliny the Elder).

Ghost hasn't lost the hype to me, just being brewed more. It still doesn't sit very long even with the increase in production

and it is a completely different recipe. I just brewed a DIPA that tastes very similar to GitM versions 1-4

Batches 1-4 varied wildly, so this statement doesn't make sense to me.

Saint Arnolds Devine Reserve shelf turds at my local kruger. Which is great for me because it is an awesome Porter. Every time I am there I buy one to age until the weather cools.

I can also find the bishop barrels hanging around stores weeks after their release

Basically anything that wasn't readily available that is now available all the time.

Because it wasn't

That's why his statement doesn't make sense to me. Batches 1 & 2 were practically Amber ales.
