A lot of these were beers that many considered "whales" when I first started posting in the FBD thread. However, now you see fewer people drinking because local options have gotten better and other breweries have stepped up.
Pliny the Elder. Anything by Toppling Goliath
Heady Topper. Jai Alai
Zombie Dust. Westbrook beers
Anything I'm missing? A few are still considered "whales" based on being adjuncts

I don't have the energy to fight over "rare" beers or bourbons either. There are great selections of both that are regularly available that the juice simply isn't worth the squeeze for the "rare" stuff.

Buffalo trace is great bourbon at $22. Their barrel picks are typically spectacular at the same price or maybe $2 more. Envie, or the latest release from parish is good enough beer for me.

As Louisiana has stepped up I've found myself trading less. I will still trade/purchase an occasional stout/sour but no more over an IPA

Obviously Ghost. Whole Foods had tons of it on Friday in the coolers opposite the BBQ counter.

I picked up a couple (8-10 batch) and it was better than the 7-26 batch. Nobody seemed interested besides me.

Ghost hasn't lost the hype to me, just being brewed more. It still doesn't sit very long even with the increase in production

Still a damn good beer but, recent production schedule has made it readily available.

I would definitely put Heady Topper on the list.

Probably a few Trilliums have gotten to the point where they aren't super special.

Pumpkinator... I remember it being a big deal hitting the shelves in BR. I've kinda soured in pumpkin beers a little, but I used to go crazy over it.

Pumpkin beers have to have a year of age on them for me, fresh they're overwhelming to me

Commotion. It's ok. But they ought to try and make it really good like Envie. Really Envie and some Bud light is all I need. And of course bourbon and vodka.

Commotion would be a local one, like you said I really expected it to become an every day drinker. However, it is heavier than Envie imo and not something I would want after cutting the yard.

Isn't that a good thing?

I got tired of having to go to 3-4 places just to get a 6 pack of ghost
