It's been a year since we last did this. In that year we've seen alot of good things happen in the Louisiana craft beer scene. I'm not sure we'll see as dramatic of a change as the previous two years (see 2013 and 2014 results) but I think everyone will appreciate seeing some of thier favorite newcomers join the list and watch some of the "filler" from last year's list get squeezed out.

VOTING
Step 1: Post your list of Top 16 Beers Brewed in Louisiana. (Licensed Breweries Only)
Step 2: I rank them

I'm going to rank your list using a point system so make sure it is in orders of favorite down. I'll tally all the votes early next week to give everyone plenty of time to submit their list.

Beers that qualify: any beer ever brewed by a licensed brewery/brewpub in Louisiana.

I'm trying to think of what's come out since the last one.

Parish Imperial Reserve for sure.

Probably a handful of Bayou Teche beers.

Gnarly Barley has some newer variants.

NOLA's line of sours, they are definitely more available than last time.

Anything by Courtyard, but I've only tried a few of them.

Mudbug and 40 Arpent and Flying Heart?

2nd Line is new but probably hasn't made it out the 504.

I'm gonna have to sit down and put together my list

4. Gnarly Barley Peanut Butter Korova
5. Great Raft Grace and Grit
6. Parish Imperial Reserve
7. NOLA Piety
8. Great Raft All My Tomorrows
9. Parish Grand Reserve
10. Parish Dr. Hoptagon
11. Great Raft Commotion

13. NOLA Barrel Aged Irish Channel Stout

16. Tin Roof Smiling Ivan

DFL. Bayou Teche 5th Anniversary Persimmon Sour

Truthfully, you could ask me tomorrow and anything between 2 and 13 I could shuffle and be just as happy with the ranking.

Haven't had enough Courtyard, Old Rail, or NOLA taproom variant beers for them to really qualify. I'm probably missing something here, but someone else will come up with it for the voting.

Here is my attempt

I have not had any Gnarly Barley, NOLA sours, or Courtyard, so I'm sure my list will look a lot different. Although I will be in NOLA at the end of October so I do plan on hitting NOLA and Courtyard.

1) Parish GITM
2) GR At Arms Length
3) GR All My Tomorrows
4) GR Grace & Grit
5) Parish Imperial Reserve
6) GR BBA Old Mad Joy
7) Parish Grand Reserve
8) Tin Roof Parade Ground Porter
9) GR Commotion
10) Parish Dr. Hoptagan
11) BT Peach IPA
12) Abita Macchiato
13) Parish Farmhouse IPA
14) BT Cocodrie
15) Red River Saison
16) GR Creature of Habit

I think...that was hard

Nola sours

I've bought 3, and tried 2 so far. Just tried Sauvage and didn't care for it. Problem is, i had the pleasure of trying Hill Farmstead Dorothy, a citra dry hopped brett pale ale, and it was fantastic. NOLA Sauvage just didn't cut the mustard. I found Dorothy to be wonderfully smooth, with great aromatic hop aroma that complemented the Brett very well. I found Sauvage to be basically the rough draft for Dorothy. I know it's NOLA's 1st attempts at sours, so i'll give them a break.

Lowerline was ok, but is a little too tart for my sour liking, and i have Piety in the fridge. Only one i'm missing is Arabella.
