Beausoleil- As much as this board loves them, I've had 3 consistently bad meals and service there. 3 strikes

I'll second this. I've been twice. Have gotten cold food, and was a mediocre product IMHO. Portion size also left something to be desired. Service was less than stellar. Both times, i left pretty unsatisfied, especially for the $ spent.

a restaurant overlooking Mt. Rainier or at the peak of a ski resort or in the Caribbean is worthy of paying more for the view.

None of those seem worthy to me.

I guess it is a matter of opinion.

I thought the general consensus was "meh sushi with a great view"

It's way been past time for Past Time. Is grease an ingredient on every pizza?

There are a lot of places in this thread that I doubt I'll ever go to again purely because they're not on my radar anyway (Voodoo, Pinnettas, Georges).

This is true as well.

And plenty (TJ Rib's, Fat Cow, etc.) that I'd go to if that was the chosen place, but it wouldn't be a place that I'd choose myself.

soo..overrated? If you really felt that about the food you'd acknowledge that it was overrated. Even the view is overrated.

Compared to any other available view in the city, it isn't.

I think fighting Tigers is talking about how the quality of food is never brought up on here as being great. It's always the view followed by average sushi.

We go to Past Time about twice a year -- one of the times is before we go to the 13th Gate. I'm not that crazy about the pizza, but I really enjoy their fried seafood. It's not greasy and the catfish tastes light and clean. They have a solid, solid seafood platter with a large amount of food at a low price.

Sorry, but the quality of food should play a bigger part in a restaurant being overrated more than the view? Shouldn't it?

This is what he was talking about. Tsunami is never regarded on here as the best sushi in town. It has the best view of any restaurant in town. That's it.

I'd agree but Tsunami has been the most inflammatory response to the OP in this thread; so clearly ppl care enough to passively defend Tsunami based on very small points of contentions in their own right.

And I never said it was a bad restaurant, just overrated in comparison to alternatives.

Go read the Curbside thread.

And written off to me means a few things. One being a place I don't need to go anymore because there are better options closer. It doesn't have to be writing it off because there were boogers and cum in the food

ETA: still tipped over 20% bc our server could've been poorly trained, etc. Nice restaurant etiquette.

Way to encourage them not to bother improving.
