Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (High Hat, Eat, Game, Verti Marte)

Another weekend in the books, and more calories consumed! I hit up High Hat, Eat and Verti Marte to name a few.
Friday after work, I grabbed a few Beams and headed to Lupin Filed to watch Newman take on Sophie B. It was a slaughter. They went to the running clock after the half. After halftime, I walked to drink with some "friends" of the program. They poured me some crown on ice. My old man and mom were with me so I didn't want to stay long. My dad becomes bitchy if he isn't eating. We left and went to High Hat, since he wanted to eat "light." Apparently, pulled pork and coleslaw is "light."
I ordered the High Hat burger. It comes dressed with pimento cheese. We also ordered hush puppies, pimento cheese baked macaroni, boudin, and peanut chocolate pie.
Looks like a hair of mine made it to the plate. My apologies for those who get grossed out by that.
All the apps were great. I prefered the macaroni. The boudin was simple, and it was not close to being the best I've had. The burger was delicious as anticipated. However, I still prefer Company Burger.
I did not like the pie. The peanuts threw it off. Had it been made with regular pecans, I would have been happier.
We then went home, where I had another cocktail and passed out.
On Saturday, I awoke to run a few errands before brunch and heading to LSU for the game. We had brunch plans at Eat. It's a classic brunch place in the Quarter. They do not have liquor, so I went to Lafitte's got a bourbon and one to go.
I ordered the grillades and grits, banana fritters and chicken livers w/ pepper jelly. The meal was a good foundation for the day. Our waiter was interesting. I think he was extremely stoned, and I think he knew I was onto him.
Some at our table ordered iced tea, and he brought coffee. He looked confused when he came to the table. I told him it was okay b/c the two words rhymed. He became nervous.
The fritters were ridiculous and came with nutella and peanut butter. The nutella made them amazing.
Livers cam with onion rings. The livers were small and had a lot of flour. I prefer my livers light pan fried. These were deep fried. Their jelly had a lot of flavor.
My meal was okay. The eggs were cooked perfectly along with the grillades. Their sauce didn't do it for me.
Another interesting part of our meal was the crowd. These people did not look up from their phones the entire time. Tourists are funny.
We then drove to BR. I was the DD. I was happy b/c I'll take a shite game any day of the week over an SEC game.
I didn't cook anything, but I was about to bring this shite up from Rouses. I guess you just throw it on a grill and heat it up.
My buddy cooked some pull pork the day before for a long time. I ate some of that and some Popeyes and Church's before going in. Popeye's >>>>> Church's.
On the way into the game, my drinking buddy at the tailgate offered to take me to a fancy suite. I was hesitant at first, just to make it feel like I wasn't desperate. I then told him I would go.
The suite was badass, and it even had a lot of free boudin.
I even got to see the sunset.
After the first half, I returned to the suite to bullshite with the big whigs. They refreshed the suite with white beans, jambalaya and meat pies. They also brought some cake.
After the game, I drove all the losers home. I was a winner because I found these decorative stuffed oreo cookies in my pockets!
After a few short hours of sleep, I ran to mass then to Lafitte's. On my way to the bar, I stopped at Verti Marte to grab an "All That Jazz." It's a great sandwich, which has grilled ham, turkey, grilled shrimp, swiss and american cheeses, grilled onion, mushrooms, tomatoes and special sauce.
I then threw on some slow jams which seemed to get the employees moving.
After celebrating, I went home to take a nap and watch some football. I had some work to do, and I didn't feel like dining in. I ran to the Rouses on Tchoup and made me a to go plate. I got some pulled chicken, greens, cabbage and macaroni. All elements were good, but the cabbage actually stood out.
For dessert, I grabbed this thing. It was sweet and just what I wanted.
I apologize for the tardiness of this week's thread. Until next Monday, stay fat my friends.

p.s. I may be headed to the Plains next week.

That stadium shot is beautiful.
I love the High Hat burger. Had it recently as well. I haven't had many of the praised burgers in New Orleans (only Luke) as I don't live there and don't really want to waste a meal on burgers when I'm there.. but that High Hat burger sure is good.
I could eat a plate of those pickles too.

Perfect pic to point out that the empty seats are directly in the Greek Section.

I can't resist the cabbage at Rouses. Always feel like a dumbass paying that much for cabbage.

I was even more pissed when I got home and found a ham bone in my box. All that additional weight was killing me.

Got into an argument with a former sorostitute a few weeks back about this. She claimed "that's not the Greek Section. It doesn't go up that high. That's the regular students." I said she was wrong.
Later that night I called her dumb and crazy
