I don't eat fast food much anymore but I really loved Arby's Original roast beefs. The problem is that they're like $5 now.

Not even close to worth it - 2 for $5 seems reasonable. I'm not even asking for the glory days of 5 for $5.95.

Just curious as to why they would do this I mean I guess they're just trying to position themselves as a premium fast food option?

Why don't you call corporate and find out for all of us that are wondering the same thing?

I'm definitely considered an old fart now. Because I recall the glory days being 5 for $5

I'd buy that special and eat on it for the better part of a week.

Do y'all not get the happy hour specials from Arby's? Sliders and shakes are $1 from like 2-5 every day. Maybe fries too.

Also, we got some coupons in a mailer the other day. We got some family special last night for $12. Two Roast Beef Sandwiches, 4 sliders, 4 small fries, and a 6 count cheese stick. The girl didn't know how to ring it up at the counter, and her manager said to just ring it up individually and he'd come back and override the prices. It was going to be $26 before the coupon, I paid $13 and change.

Here's your first. Back in college when I was working landscaping and maintenance. I killed 3 at lunch and the other two driving home at the end of the day. Then ate dinner.

Was the 5 for 5 deal in the 80's?

If only everyone here could have tasted the actual real roast beef sandwiches in the late 60s when the were delicious. Those things were awesome. I loved Arby's and Arthur Treacher's Fish n Chips. Those two chains were my favorite as a kid. Here's a pic of the huge signs they used to have. They were absolutely obnoxious.

I used to eat Arby's all the time when you could get fried mozzarella, curly fries, two sandwiches and a drink for $5. I was in high school at the time so IDAF how bad it was for me.

I was in HS when they had this deal going in south MS which was 10-12 years ago.

Didn't know it was that recent. Wonder what year and why they got rid of it?

I'd imagine inflation. Same reason why every other fast food restaurant got ride of dollar menus (or basically everything worth a shite on them).
