My dad use to tease me with saying he was going to do this when I was young, but never did it.

Anyone ever tried it?
How did it turn out?

Sounds like an alternate to sous vide.

And I have no idea why I just thought about this... Maybe because I was loading the dishwasher.

I've actually heard of people that cook shrimp this way. Never heard of fish though.

So you're saying it can't be done?

Do you have a reading comprehension problem? I never spoke to the veracity of the claim. Just pointing out the inherent untrustworthiness of the source.

Years ago I had heard that you could cook salmon in the dishwasher and I tried it.
Came out just fine, wrapped it in foil with some lemon and seasoning and ran it for a full cycle I believe

I assume the flavor is just like baking? Not really much difference in flavor or texture?

3. Add dirty dishes and lemon-scented soap. This optional step is not recommend for beginners

Dishwaser salmon recipe from Food Network

Easily the best part of that recipe:

Don't have a dishwasher? Bake foil-wrapped packets in a preheated 400 degree F oven for 12 minutes.

As if the dishwasher were the normative way to cook it. You do you, Food Network.
