Any suggestions on where to go?

We have done mostly all the usual steakhouses, which are always good in my opinion. I am looking to take the lady to a romantic place with good food.

The problem comes that I don't eat cheese and not a big fan of butter or wine based sauces.

I am looking for places with good dishes with simple ingredients.

Before I get OT type responses, I know that I'm picky.

Doris is good. You could also do Revolution and just get a steak.

ETA - another option is Gautreau's. There are always some simpler options (let the ingredients shine type dishes)

Does your wife eat cheese or wine/butter sauces? Most any reataurant that has those types of dishes have a steak or something simple to accommodate less rich-dish eaters.

I hear Vision's in the East has a great lunch spread.

Gautreau's might do it for you. You could get the roasted chicken.

We had a wonderful meal at R'evolution this past weekend. I wouldn't call it romantic, but it's definitely a good dining experience in a very nice space. I had the glazed fish in blue crab pho which was not a rich dish and was delicious.

Tough to beat August. It could satisfy your simple tastes while still being very romantic.
