Every time I try frozen dinners I'm disappointed. A friend told me today I should try Amy's. Any reviews out there? TIA.

Hi Zach

Never had them, but Here are reviews for you.

I looked at the Tamale Verde review and couldn't get past the first photo. Looked grim.

That's all I'm saying.

Some co-workers swear by them. Think it's more to do with marketing than with value or taste though. I tried one of the Indian ones once. Despite being packed full of sodium it was pretty bland. Never bought again.

I'm a label reader and I'm not gonna buy any box with high sodium. I'm interested in the Thai dish since I don't make that at home.

I actually enjoy them especially the Indian ones. They are also pretty healthy having no artificial ingredients. Check out the ingredient list on them.

I think that's pretty obvious when it comes to frozen dinners.

Better than a lean cuisine... Not a big fan of the frozen, processed dinner tho. Amy's has a lot of vegitarian options.

Oh for the days when frozen dinners came in aluminum tins and had to be made in the oven.

It took so dang long you could have made the stuff from scratch.

I don't think I've had one that I didn't enjoy, although the low sodium ones could use a little, well, sodium (ha). And I don't eat that much salt.

My husband hated the Thai Curry one but I liked it, just more calories than I care to consume at lunch. His favorite is probably Thai Pad Thai or the cheese ravioli. My favorite is the roasted vegetable tamale.

Evol is another good brand of frozen dinners.

I eat em....the Thai ones are pretty bland and sweet, but the Indian and Mexican are a bit better. If you can find the palak paneer (spinach and curd cheese) or the tamale verde, those are my two faves. The Mac n cheese, teriyaki bowls, and veg lasagna are all pretty flavorless.

I haven't eaten a frozen dinner in over a decade. I finally found something I am food snobby about, I would be interested to see if there are some decent options.

Seems like it should be an easy thing to accomplish with little processing, but that isn't the deal with most of what is no the shelf.

OK, I just tried one. The Black Bean and Veggie Enchiladas. It was excellent. Will buy it again. Most of the other varieties were higher in sodium.
My wife is gonna try the Chinese Noodles (Lo Mein) and Veggies tomorrow. It's higher sodium but she prefers more salt than me.

The Evol brand of frozen foods are great, IMO.

They actually taste like food and I usually buy several for lunch during the week.

I didn't see Evol but then I wasn't looking for it. Is it in most stores?

Evol is surprisingly good for frozen food. I find that Target has the best price on Evol. I didn't care for the breakfast sandwiches that I tried. The tacos and quesadillas are my favorites.
