Alright, I just got off the phone with my contact. He is still friends with people that work at Primo but the main guy he would need to talk to about a group buy is out of the country and won't be back for about a month. He does believe that a group buy is doable but(and there's always that "but")they would all have to be shipped to one location with something like a loading dock. Unless someone wants to drive up to north Georgia to pick them up.
So, at this time a group buy is something that can be done but I have no clue what they would cost. I guess it would help to get another thread going dedicated strictly to interest in a group buy with exactly what would be wanted for order. This wouldn't be something that will happen over night but it might be a good deal.
Anyone have a business that could take delivery of such items?

I'm interested. Don't know if I can wait that long . I was offered a deal on a Kamado Joe.
Regular Joe for $850.00 with free cover or Big Joe for $1300.00, plus La. sales tax. Pretty hard deal to pass up.

Kamado Joe's have skyrocket in price. I paid 750 for mine right after the new divided system came out.

Bought the pit boss for $580 shipped. I'll probably do a small mod to make sure it's completely sealed. Had a chance at a 18" Kamado Joe for for $750 + tax but want a bigger cooking surface like the pit boss has

Would you share who quoted you $750.00 on the Kamado Joe? I'm a buyer at that price.

Just don't see it worth spending an exta $400 to get a smaller grill even if the 24" is more like a 22"

The quote came from someone my father in law is friends with that works for an ace hardware

Yes, but I'm in Houston. I could probably also arrange a delivery with forklift capability/ temporary storage to Lafayette and Mandeville too but that would require favors from my customers that I'd rather not cash in for something like this...

No offense but I'm thinking someone possibly in a central area, maybe like Baton Rouge(but how would you know that if I didn't say this previously)Lol..... Remember these are ceramic and the more they are moved around the higher the risk of breakage. Depending on how much of a deal it ends up being and how many are ordered is a factor.

I figured Houston would be less than ideal which is why I mentioned the alternatives. To be clear, I meant that I could arrange for a direct delivery to one location in either Mandeville or Lafayette, I'd just have to call in a favor from one of my customers and they couldn't be stored for any length of time...

That would work so long as everyone that ordered one would agree to pick it up within a decent time and or maybe even be there to accept delivery of it themselves.
BTW, I'm NOT interested in heading this purchase up. I'm just arranging it being done through my connection. Someone else can be in charge of the rest.

The Primo warranty is tremendous. I broke one while moving. Sent me a new one, no questions asked. The shipped one had a crack during transport, so they sent me another new entire one, no questions asked.

The top of mine came off during a cook due to a faulty install of the band - completely my fault - and they sent me a whole new primo oval xl, no questions asked.

Wonderful company. Made in Georgia.

Well,my fire box is cracked. Been using it like that for about 6 months. Might have to write them for a new one.

They will send you one with no questions asked. However, you will have to pay the shipping costs.

I can get the loading dock under the circumstances I stated. These things are heavy as Cajunate said and should be moved as little as possible. I wouldn't ask one of my customers to store a single one for more than an afternoon. I'm not going to push some awkward encounter for someone who would have to honcho this whole deal either. If you guys get something easy together, I'll join a buy and do what I said but I'm not going to participate in something that makes anyone feel uncomfortable.

I'd drive to Mandeville or Lafayette (Preferably Mandeville) if someone gets this thing going and we get a deal close to Wizz deals

I would also drive to Mandeville, Lafayette. Can we get a thread for just the folks want to do this?
