Mine doesn't look that bad but it is definitely on its way. My biggest issue is the useable range of the dampers, anything more than 30% open is 450F+. You can keep it low but there's miniscule adjustments required to do it...

Maybe the guy he got 'em from could get in trouble for selling them below retail?

I'll try to call Jeff today. Like I said, no promises. This guy used to work for Primo and maybe they don or won't do a group sale deal but I'm only guessing he still has a connection there. As someone stated they may not do it but I'm just trying to help you guys out. Personally I don't need one as I have a Jr. Oval as well as other grills.

Jesus Christ.. That thing looks terrible. Whatever you buy next, make sure you buy a cover for it.

That looks like the Lafayette store (since that is the same stuff in the picture that surrounded the pits on Saturday) when i bought one. I'd call the Lafayette location and pay for it if interested and then drive over to pick it up. Better bring some manpower....it ways 260 pounds. Had to tear open the box in the back of the truck and take small pieces out one at a time in order to put together.

Hard to pass on that deal.

under the handle there is a silver plate that hits the silver spike that is on the bottom of the unit. see your original picture of the Vision grill....it's clearer in that photo.

Ahh gotcha. That's for when a drunk friend opens your pit at 600 and loses all arm hairs.. I've had several ppl get flash back'd and drop my lid.
