Yep. About 50 times. Some poor unsuspecting soul will post a favorable opinion about Abita Strawberry and the same usual beer fig suspects will trot in on their 25 hand high horse and label the offender a moronic, unrefined lover of urine infused swill. This year I vow to defend the morons against the figs.

Myself, love some Abita strawberry and crawfish/crabs. Only falls second to Corona. Also, frick darker beers on a hot day. Give me a cheap Coors and lemon salt and I'll chose it over any fine craft beer. Especially if I'm out on the water fishing.

Must be a really tasty beer if you have to add lemon salt.

Actually, in my experience, it's been the Strawberry lovers that have shown up in overwhelming force to berate the detractors.

Let me introduce you to some good local ales that fit that role perfectly (light, crisp, not very heavy) without drinking some shitty Coors Light that you have to pour lemon salt on to make it palatable:

Don't think so Mo Jeaux. From what I've seen the offender expresses their appreciation for The Berry then gets blitzkrieged by a maven panzer unit.

Actually, as a liquor and wine guy, I only have maybe 1 or 2 beers every couple of weeks, so I may not belong in this thread, period.

To be fair, you fired the first personal shots. Everyone else was discussing the beer, not the beer drinker. I won't hate one someone for liking a beer, but I will hate on a beer.

No I didn't. People were called morons and had their palates called into question before I fired a shot.

One great thing about this board is the beer mavens. Plenty of very experienced people in the FBD threads who can (and do) guide new comers to delicious craft beer. However there are also a bunch of sheep in those threads. The serious beer drinkers don't care for this style beer. The sheep are the ones who were drinking this beer for many years but now bash it. The same ones running their mouths about BMC yet have been seen here posting pics of BMC in hand. The Strawberry Abita appeals to a large group of people mainly those who aren't serious beer drinkers. Non beer drinker makes a thread about enjoying the beer, beer drinker disagrees, then the sheep and trolls come in and wreck this damn train everytime.

makes work fun
