I always offer the guy I'm going up against a split.

If payout is 400 and 150 I'll usually offer them $200 and encourage them to take that instead of playing out the game. Too much of a chance for fluky BS to happen and cost me $250 to not try to get the most guaranteed money that I can.

splitting 50/50 is never in the question. One of the reasons I join a league based on payout, so im not going to get there then break it down to nothing. That's dumb.

but 1st place is scheduled to get 1200, 2nd place 300. Im going to propose a 1000/500 1st/2nd place pot. That's all the compromise i have

I've played in eight fantasy leagues the last three years and made seven ship appearances but only won one. Never before this year have I offered a split. This year I'm doing $800 first and $600 second in my big league and splitting a 50-50 in the other ($330 to each team). I invested $265 in fantasy this year and will at least bring in $930 maybe $1130.

Not in my league.

1st: $1450
2nd: $700

You win an extra $25 for 1st in that scenario.

In one league I've already gotten $500 for winning the regular season. I can win $1,000 this week or another $500 for runner up. He offered me a $750 split. I'd rather go for the win mainly because of the cash already in pocket

From a dude who lost two ships last year and had to "settle" for 2nd place cash, I would feel worse about winning and having to chop my cash with the loser. Its house money at this point. Go for it all.

$100 buy in 12T league

Both of us are taking home $500 and playing for a bill.

I won the regular season, facing 2nd place team. I won't have OBJ it seems so glad we decided to modify the payout.

We decided to go 1st $1100 and 2nd $700. Just because last year me and the same guy, one of my best friends was in the championship last year. He by FAR had the better team....He could have just took it all but decided to split. Lets just say my starting qb/rb was flacco and asiata.
This year, I have the better team, but I dont mind returning the favor and both of us having a good christmas....

oh and btw.....I ended up winning it last year so I still took the higher payout. That was the game they took Luck out at halftime

Removing the drama from the week of why we play this just seems anti climatic.
