Well it's just like any form of gambling, you got this far, may as well bet on yourself. Take the title, money, and bragging rights

I don't split. I play to win the game. I would not play in a league where i thought the payout was dumb.

The idea of an even split is disturbing. Should have something on the line.

Depending on the league payout structure and how much I've already won, I usually offer up a split + play.

In M/TV auction - only $25 buyin, payout is $200/$50/$25. I won $25 from total points. WTC and I are doing a $75/$75 split and play for $100 in finals. My reasoning in offering is that it guarantees WTC $75 which is the total buyin from both M/TV leagues. I'm guaranteed $100 and there's still $100 on the line.

In my 2 other finals leagues, 2nd place payout structure is higher, so no need to split. The guarantee is already 3x entry fee.

To each their own but unless I feel damn strong about my chances to win it all...my years of wisdom tell me strongly to ALWAYS TAKE THE GUARANTEED MONEY!!!!
