Ethical question: I have discovered a flaw in the scoring system. Do I tell?

Without getting too much into it, I've discovered a flaw in the system that rewards more points for receiving yards than rushing yards. This is different than what was passed around pre draft (live draft). It is however available to see under scoring on the league's website.

The league is for money, actually my most expensive league. I only know two other people in the league, and we are all three close friends. One of these friends' dad is the commissioner.

Do I:

Not say anything?

Tell both friends?

Tell only the friend without a dad commissioner?

What say the Fantasy Board?

You are supposed to be awarded 1 pt for every 50 yards rushing or receiving, then 1 pt for every 25 yards after.

I know, I know, it's really stupid.

But what is currently happening is WRs are getting 1 pt for 20 yards, then 1 more for every 20 past that.

So last week Lamar Miller ran for 46 yards and got 0 points. Roddy White had 42 yards receiving and got 2 points. So it's a fairly big deal.

How has no one else discovered this? That would seem pretty obvious. I would post a message on the message board about it, but it really doesnt matter as everyone is playing under the same rules (whether they realize it or not).

If those settings are not what was agreed to by the league before the draft, then you should tell the comissioner and let him change the settings.

Wow. This seems like an obvious flaw that anyone half paying attention would discover.

Also, these might be literally the worst scoring rules I have ever heard of.

ETA: As for what to do? Idk. Wait until it screws you over then bring it up?

Not something with PPR is it? I'd leave it be... until you lose a playoff game, then demand that the commish edit.... dick move, yes.

It matters because people have already made decisions based off of different scoring. They are at a disadvantage.

It would be really really shitty not to let everyone know.

The rules suck but the reason I wanted to play in the league is because the majority of players are...not the most observant.

I think I'm going to point it out.

If it took you 2 weeks to figure out RBs were scoring half the points as WRs, how long to you think it will take the "not the most observant"?

Depends. What is your record now? What would your record be if the rules are as they should be? Will this benefit you in the long term?

I'm 2-0. I won by 1 pt last week, which is why I was watching scoring a little more closely than week 1.

I'll have to double check but I think I should still have won last week...he played a WR at the flex and I played a RB.

I do have a very strong group of RB's...forte, Morris, Stacy, Ridley, HYDE (not Gore like I said at first).

I thought of that angle, but that's only true for draft day. If they havent noticed by now that they arent scoring the way they are supposed to be, you think they were really observant enough to even go into the draft with a strategy?

It's possible one of the commissioners changed it because he has good wr's...just sayin

also bad scoring. Final scores must be like 18-16

Is the commissioners' team stacked with WR? I think he's trying to jam the league and you're onto him.

After week one I noticed that one of my ten team leagues gives one point to players every 20 return yards. It is a commish mistake and I haven't said anything we start three Wrs and a flex. My starting receivers are Juilo, A. Brown and Patterson.

Terrible that you would even consider dishonestly in a friendly game.

Worse.

Scheming against friends? Seriously?

Now that we know what kind of person you are, ask yourself what kind of person you want people to think you are.
