Just finished voting. Polling place had a posted time limit for voting. Is this legal?

3 mins in Louisiana is what I heard on the radio this morning from the local clerk of court.

If it takes you the whole 3 minutes to vote, you probably shouldn't be voting.

That's the time limit that was posted. I didn't know if it was something set by state law or just an arbitrary rule set by the poll workers.

If it takes you more than 1 minute, you're doing it wrong.

Exactly, there is enough information out there to know your selections and be out of there in under 3 minutes

I mean, there's probably no official time limit, but they also don't want people coming inside and camping out and clogging up the system.

Yo could get 100 people to get into the ballot box area and refuse to vote and shut down the whole place otherwise.

With long lines and people waiting to vote, 3 minutes is fair. It really shouldn't take that long. I voted paper ballot today and took less than 3 minutes.

Without a time limit, what's to prevent a fillibuster if you can get enough people together from party A in a polling location that's composed of primarily party B?

No. you should call the voter fraud hotline.

I'm glad we have this board so all of these illegal things can be reported

Yep, I had already gone through the ballot on my Geaux Vote app, and took about 45 secs to vote.

That's what I was wondering. It may have been a law forever but I've voted many time and this was the first time I had seen a sign like that.

I agree with everyone that 3 minutes is more than enough to vote and it took me WAY less than that. But when I see local election officials doing things that may or may not be actual law my radar goes up.

It shouldn't take too awful long - Assuming that you have what you want at the polls - which is an educated voter who goes in knowing all of what he/she is actually voting on, other than the Presidential election.

I'm new to St. Tammany, wasn't ready for the last bit. Was trying to read it and my time ran out.
