I have gas and electric and much prefer the electric oven. It just seems to regulate better. Now I would never give up gas on the cooktop.

Agree 100%. We have a gas oven and an electric and almost never use the gas. Electric is much more consistent. Gas is the way to go for the cooktop though.

Have an electric convection oven and I love the damned thing. Nothing like being able to turn on a blast of hot air to crisp up the exterior of your food. Roasts, chicken, veggies, biscuits you name it.

Gas stove top with gas oven.

I use my toast-r-oven more than the gas oven.

Go with electric convection.

Dual fuel ranges are better for sure, but gas-gas works for us. We have a Breville countertop toaster oven that we use more than the range oven, it's just quicker and more convenient. The broiler in a gas oven is unreal though. I don't think you ever need a broiler that hot but it's impressive.

I hate my gas oven. All temperature for recipes had to be adjusted. Just doesn't cook as well as an electric.

Perhaps your gas oven's thermotstat needs to be adjusted?

I have an all gas range....and my gas convection oven cooks beautifully. It's extra-wide, so it takes a bit long to preheat, but it has no problems holding temp or browning anything.

I've put in my two different thermometers and the temperatures are correct. Just cooks differently. I've tried with "Bake", "Convection Bake", "Roast", and "Convection Roast". Hate this Kenmore Elite oven.

That's your problem...it's not the fuel, but a ridiculous oven with multiple electronic baking modes. I have "on/temp" and "off", on an analog rotating dial. Convection is an on/off toggle for the fan. I looked long and hard to find an electronics-free range....I am wholly unimpressed with the silly stuff loaded into most consumer kitchen appliances.

My BlueStar will certainly outlast me.
