I was speaking in terms of the chain restaurants listed that I disagreed, nothing more.

I don't think people understand the crazy amount of great, diverse restaurants that have popped up in Houston in the last 3-5 years...and there's a new one opening pretty much every week.
also, chinatown has some fricking incredible food.

Aside from Franklin, La, and J Mueller BBQ, Austin has the Salty Sow and MAYBE Contigo that are places I have to hit when I'm in Austin

Austin is a pretty distant third to Houston and Dallas when it comes to dining. It has fun casual places and stuff like good BBQ, but when it comes to fine dining it can't compare

Barley Swine was legit when I went about 3 years ago, but I've heard they raised prices a good bit and changed things up and its not the same
