Picked me up some Ox tail. Which is what they call regular old cow tail. From a regular old cow who just stands around and eats not some bad arse beast of burden. But anyway Ive never fooled with oxtail or had oxtail soup, but I plan on attemting it this evening. Anybody got a good recipe or tips? Tia

What time tonight Mr. Balls?

Cause I need to leave pretty quickly and I'll want to stop just over the bridge for lottery tickets.

A good guest always shows up with a lottery ticket for the host.

It is one of my favorite liquor stores when I am in the area.

Yes, they do a brisk lottery ticket business with Mississippi folks there.

"Mississippi Lottery ticket buyers, cheerfully supporting the school children of Louisiana"

Hope your cow tail soup is good tonight. We like that recipe a lot. Be sure to carefully pick out the bones. You will find flat bones that may slip by your examination if you are not careful.

I noticed the entire left end of the Old Charter display on the bottom shelf in the liquor store said "Reserved for LSUballs" the last time I was there. Must be nice to be a VIP customer.

Getting it put together. Looked at the two recipes in the thread and about 10 on the interweb and did a combo. Dredged and browned the cow tails. Sautéed onions and celery and garlic. Slugged wine and beef stock. Add 3 small chopped rutabagas, 1 chopped turnip, carrots and sliced button shrooms. Flat leaf and Rosemary. Garlic powder, salt and pepper. Bout to let it bloob a while.

If one were to research Mr Balls' history, I'm certain they would find he's no stranger a tub o' tail.

Looks good, Mr Balls.
