Ok not as depressing as it sounds (I fly out to NYC Christmas Day). Where would one go tonight for dinner? Im thinking Dickie Brennan's or Luke. Buffa's is my back up plan. Any recs?

Merry Christmas!

Mr Johns, Doris or Desi Vegas bar for a big Christmas Eve steak for me... If they are open. Dickie Brennans bar is better than Johns, but steak is subpar.

Hardly anything worth a crap has availability on OpenTable, but I'm sure for one person, it's a breeze to just grab a spot at a bar.

Luke could have a good atmosphere for one, for sure.

If I was going to be eating alone tonight, I'd find a spot at the bar at Domenica and eat me a bowl of Chicken Liver and Oxtail Stracci that Domenica has just added back to their menu

Don't look at it that way.

You're providing a service for people who are alone on Christmas Eve. Even if they don't celebrate the holiday, they're still alone on a day that the overwhelming majority of the country feels is for family and friends.

It's like volunteering at a soup kitchen in a way. No, your clientele is not starving or in need of clothes or shelter, but some kind of companionship is good for everyone no matter how much money they have.

I get what your saying, but I know its mostly gonna be big tops. Hell, I don't even think fast food restaurants are open tonight.

I'm alone for dinner every night since the wife sleeps from 2 pm till midnight.

I don't like the idea of going out to dinner alone. I'd rather make something just for me (and the dogs) at home.

Tonight I've got a rainbow pasta/romaine salad. Some catfish courtbullion over steamed rice. The dogs will have leftover baked beans mixed with dry dog food.

No good FB games on TV so me and dogs might watch some Judge Judy episodes I taped.

Gotta say this is the saddest Christmas Eve sentence I've ever read.

Are you kidding? I love it. The worst Christmas Eves of my life were during my first marriage attending elementary school recitals.

Well, now I'm depressed. Thanks. But I was never a big parm fan. When I was allowed to have cheese my favorites were very sharp cheddar and dry Gouda.
Merry Christmas to you!!

I'd either do Domenica or Cowbell at the bar.
