If your kid bitches about how some other kid received better gifts then they did. Just tell them they should have behaved better and they got what they deserved. Problem solved.

I think it will benefit my kids later in life for them to know that Santa loved them more than the other kids. And when they get older, they'll realize the humility of their parents not taking credit for something they deserved it for. All win.

My parents were pretty poor growing up so we all got small toys from Santa. the key for kids is just buying a bunch of little cheap stuff and one medium sized gift. Makes you feel special

I'm envisioning this kid being 7 and up and mentally challenged to fit both criteria in which case the parents that want to spoil a mentally challenged child's Christmas should go kill themselves.
I got my first 2 wheel bike when I was 5 from Santa. I know almost every one of my friends' kids have had ipads from about 2yrs old on. I agree a PS4 is a little complicated for smaller kids though. Most of my friends' young kids have Wii's. It's very possible for 4 and 5 yr olds to be receiving IPads and bikes for Christmas.

While that's what we do, because the frick if I'm going to let Santa take all the credit for my hard work, I certainly don't need or give a shite about someone else telling me what I should or shouldn't do. Plus, if my kid came home and said so and so got all kinds of stuff from Santa and I only got my stocking and one thing. I would simply explain that we gave you more than that kids parents did, clearly we love you more than that kids parents love them and Santa felt bad for those kids.

My parents used to do all our gifts from Santa. And nothing was wrapped so we'd wake up and the living room would just be filled with toys.
I didn't even want to do Santa, but my husband and the grandparents said I had to. It is fun to see their faces.
But I'll be damned if Santa is going to bring the new $300 gaming system and I'm only giving socks and a shirt. frick that. And bahumbug.

We do the three from Santa as well. Not necessarily modest, but we certainly don't go overboard from Santa. Every Christmas eve, we go thru some sort of Santa-remorse when we stage the gifts. 3 gifts for each kid doesn't have the wow-factor that you want on Christmas morning. But every time the kids see it, they still are joyful.

I have 0 cares about what other people give their kids from Santa.
My kids are at a private school where many 3rd graders will receive iPhone 6s, and new laptops.
Our Santa brings modest presents to keep my children grounded and appreciative. They can be little entitled shits sometimes but no way in hell would they expect a laptop.
I think that letting a child get everything they ask for and more can be dangerous down the road. And might turn them into an ungrateful a-hole.

Same here and I will do the same. It's not all about look at me and what I gave you, I prefer to foster that imagination. Kids have very few years of innocence, gifts that come from me can be after the Santa talk.
