Most marathons require a 16:00 pace. Very few people can walk at that pace fore that distance. It might even be tougher.

I have completed several half-marathons but only one full marathon. Honestly, I didn't feel like such a world-class athlete as I limped to the finish line and a few old ladies passed me.

It's a phenomenal feat...when completed in under 200 minutes.

For the record, I can't stand those damn stickers or any sticker/sign that expresses how you think you're better than nearly everyone else.

Whatever a 16 min/mile pace is...it isn't running.

Back in my early 20's I could have run a half marathon with no problem since I was running every day - now I'm mid 30's with 2 major ankle reconstructive surgeries and I can't even jog to the mailbox without being in agony. Kudos to those that can though, my running days are far behind me now.

As far as an achievement I have that not a lot of people have done or can do, Im not douchey enough to put a sticker on my car that I've bowled a 300 game.

Got to love the OT, where running nearly 30 miles at once is NBD...everyone here does that before breakfast. ..

I've run 27 miles before because the course is so crowded and there are a ton a turns you can't cut off.

I've just done a 1/2 but that pissed me off too.

The official time doesn't account for that either.

And 13.1 / 26.2 stickers are annoying to other peeps..

although if I ever complete the Leadville 100, you better believe I'll put one of these on my truck because I would want everyone to know how much of a badass I was

Check out the Marathon des Sables.

And yes, I put 13.1 a sticker on my vehicle after I ran my first half marathon and replaced it with a 26.2 sticker after my first full marathon. I'm not a badass and the sticker is just there as a reminder that I have to run a full marathon every year in order to keep the sticker. It's just a mental thing. It may be considered stupid but it works for me.

I'm torn on this. I've got a 340.0 sticker in my glove box. It's from the MR340 which is a 340 mile non-stop kayak race.

I finished in 64 hours which was good enough for 23rd place out of 150 male solo racers from around the country.

I go back and forth about putting it on the SUV.

Since when does putting one foot infront of the other make someone an athlete????

You ran a long way... Congrats

But that in no way shape or form makes you an athlete

Let's keep going though.

I mean what's with the high jump? You jumped off the ground over a pole and now you think you're an athlete?

How about football? You put one foot in front of the other until you reach the end zone, and you want athlete status? frick off.

While I wouldn't put one on, I also wouldn't put all the stick figure kids and crap either.
