Generally, if your boat is on plane, the bow is out of the water and you aren't pushing much wake to begin with. Unless you are in a huge heavy arse boat, then WTF are you doing running through 18" of water in the first place? I was more referring to the guy throwing a 30' rooster tail to look cool than the A to B guy. Besides that, traveling at a high rate of speed in a narrow cut is a good way to get dead and I don't want to see that or be involved in it.
Not sure where you fish, but its very common in the marsh. Many high traffic cuts are 18". Not saying that someone doesn't occasionally get dead though.

The guy who invites himself. Doesn't bring anything for any body else. No decoys, no call, and snacks for himself and his own drink. Rides with you in your truck then gets in your boat and rides to a hole that you found scouting the previous day and acts like he found it on google maps. Calls the best spot to setup and shoots at every single that comes in. And when a group comes in he claims at least 3. And when you leave he grabs his ducks and leaves. No thank you, nothing. Needless to say he will never go back. He also acted like he was doing me a service by being there.

I don't like the attitude that Green Jeans has when he inspects me.
I'll have everything with me; Life vest, whiste (kayaking), fishing license, etc. and he's mad for some reason. It's like he's pissed that I am not ticket-able.
They, like NC State Troopers (or any other State Trooper) have very little social skills. They are overpaid hall monitors, yet forget that the reason that they are overpaid is the taxpayer. It's one of the Murphy's Laws that I don't like.
You meet a kind one about 1/4th of the time. I understand that the Government lacks severely in customer service, but it's something we all learned when we were young: have a good/pleasant attitude and things seem to come your way.
If you reply that they have a hard job; I'd like to see them do mine. It requires some level of polite communication.

The one time I went deer hunting on public land was two years ago, West Bay.
Nice cold morning, we get out early and hike a good mile or so in, and get set up, things look promising. I'm just off an old logging road sitting in my stand. Around 9:00 am this young game warden comes tearing arse down the logging road in his truck checking licenses.
WTF, over? You have to drive your damn truck out into the woods to look for violators? You can't wait until we get out and back to our vehicles?
Complete. Dick. Move.

This, I can pretty much deal with anything else on the water. About a month ago, I was pulling up to my trailer and the guy in the next lane over is backing off. Rather than back straight off, he backs up and cuts between me and my trailer still in reverse, and not a long way off either. I had to throw it in reverse to avoid hitting him. I just sat there with the WTF are you doing look on my face, while he backed all the way up to the dock. Decided that there is no way that I could fix the amount of stupid in his boat so I trailered up and left.
Also when we are at a sand bar hanging out, skiers feel the need to do circles so everyone on the sand bar can see how cool they are... all the while rocking the crap out of everyones boat

Getting out of a truck and slamming the door/talking in a normal voice instead of whispering in the wood
God, I so did that this weekend and I can't let go of it.
So iJust started deer hunting again this year, last time was 15 years ago. I was with my bud at his lease, and one other guy wa s there. The other guy was real cool, knowledgable, and has been hunting for his entire life. Didnt brag or anything like that tho. Just a cool guy to hang with, but knows what he's doing.
He assumes I've never killed, which considerIng i haven't killed since i was 15 is pretty much true.
We rode 4 wheelers out to where my stand would be. He insisted on making sure i got there, rather then just point me in a direction and let me walk. It was about another 500 yards. As him and my friends are deliberating letting me walk i blurt out that i can walk there, practically yelling voice. Not that I meant to, I just happen too loud talk sometimes. It was the biggest newb move, and I keep thinking about it.

This.
"We've hunted here for 15 years blah blah blah." Well it's public land buddy boy
You can say the same thing about some of the idiots who tailgate on the LSU campus.

^ This. Especially pisses me off when the same Fish Police check my license weekend after weekend during the summer at the same dock every time and fail to recognize that they've ever seen me before in their life. It's not as if I fish out of a major metropolitan area and hundreds of people use this launch everyday. After six license checks by the same two occifers in a month's time, something tells me they either have no common sense or they're just looking to write a ticket.
