About 50 bucks a bottle. Smooth as a newborn baby’s arse.

For something you can actually around that price point, I would go Sam Houston 15.

Blanton’s, Breckinridge, Redemption, Blade & Bow, Eagle Rare, Willet, Bookers are all good choices

What would you compare this bourbon too? What would be your 2nd choice under 200 dollars

That’s a broad spectrum. A lot of good stuff under $200. I also tend to favor Basil Hayden and Woodford Reserve.

No but in Alabama booze costs more. Eagle Rare is usually over 75.00 in the abc store and Blanton's, forget about it. Richie's in Pensacola is much cheaper in our area but doesn't always have it.

I'm going to say it: once you get over ~$100 in bourbon you're paying for a name. You don't have to spend more than that to get good quality.

Thank you. That is what I thought.
I’m looking for a real smooth no bite whiskey under 100 dollars

It's hard to find bourbon aged 15+ years for under $100, and age has quite a significant impact on flavor. So I'd say that's a very incorrect statement.

Get that man a WOODFORD!

I appreciate your comment
What whiskey would you buy under 150.00 that is smooth and doesn’t have a bite?

But this guy isn't trying to buy a 15+ year aged bourbon, he's just gifting a bottle. I wouldn't recommend anyone pay over $100 in that situation because you're either paying for a gimmick or overpaying due to a name (e.g. Weller). He can get something great in the $60-80 range, based on his criteria.

This statement was true 10 years ago when you could by 18 year old bourbon for 60 bucks a bottle.

Elijah Craig 18 year since you keep bumping up the price
I wouldn't eliminate "bite" if buying for someone who is into whiskey. I always find Bookers is a great gift bottle because of its presentation and it happens to be very good to great depending on which release you get. But it will definitely have some bite as it's over proofed.
Finished whiskeys are unique too. Something like a Joseph Magnus Murray Hill Club or special release will fit your price range and are interesting and generally really good bottles.

That's way high. Even Dorignac's sells for $79.
I guess people must pay it, though.

Woodford reserve double barrel. It's $70 where I'm at but it's damn good.
