It’s such a tough question to answer without knowing what they like- scotch, bourbon, etc.

What is your price range?

You can get a daily drinker for $30-40 and go up to several hundred/thousand dollars.

If he’s a bourbon guy, here’s my opinion within various price ranges:
1. Colonel E. H. Taylor - $120
2. Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel - $80
3. Four Roses Small Batch Select - $60
4. Eagle Rare - $32
5. Buffalo Trace - $24

I disagree with Four Roses. I like it, but it has a spice to it that a lot of people don't like.

I'd go with something like Woodford Reserve Double Oaked or Knob Creek Single Barrel. If you can find Blanton's, that's a great choice too.

If he likes scotch then all that goes out the window.
