At full strength who was more powerful in ww2 Germany or US?

I was watching a ww2 documentary few days ago and its amazing how 80 percent of Germanys loses were on the eastern front. So when the Americans joined the fight the Germans were badly weakened by the USSR. Its interesting how before Hitler turned on Stalin they were actually allies. I'm curious if Germany never attacks Russia could the US have defeated Germany when they were at full strength?

Depends on how long we could have drug the war on... we would have defeated them eventually if we didn't fall immediately

The United States never attained “full strength”. If you’re asking which nation was stronger at their strongest during the war, the answer is the United States.

US could have sent soldiers all day every day even crossing an ocean.

I’m sure some of those men would have liked to jam a fat boy up Hitler’s arse.

I've heard the way to look at it is, at ______ point in time of the war, who was stronger.

Yes, it would have taken longer. Russia wasn't really a German ally. They signed a non-aggression pact but I don't think Hitler never intended to keep his word. Stalin probably didn't expect Hitler to honor it for the agreed upon 10 year period.

Gotta consider the resources that Germany was using on the Eastern Front. We were fighting less than half of Germany's army

The timelines are not really aligned, but at full strength the USA was more powerful than Germany. This is also removing the nuclear equation.
The US had 50 million more people than Germany in 1940, the ability of those 50 million to contribute to the war effort would be enough. The US is also more abundant in natural resources for the production of weapons.
Germany did have us beat in scientist obviously, but we would eventually be able to overcome that.

One must also consider the amount of resources that the United States was using in the Pacific. By 1944, we had nearly 3.7 million servicemen and women deployed in that theater of the war.

They weren't "stronger" then most, but their tank generals shocked the French and the eastern Europeans with Blitzkrieg. Before then, the world never saw attacks move that quickly.
If Germany doesn't attack Russia then yes, they would have owned all of western Europe before we even joined the war.

Were we not also in the Pacific as well?

If you look at technical efficiency and strength of troops/general/etc. It would probably be Germany at the beginning of the war. We were no where near ready at the beginning of WWII. However, there are a few thing to take into account. Our population was far greater. The probability of attack on the US Mainland was highly unlikely. Maybe a random Sub, but no one was invading us at that time. So We may have lost some initial battles, but our infrastructure would be intact and we had the natural resources to eventually starve Germany out. We could have done the same to any nation, that is why it was such a horrible plan for Japan to attack us. The only thing that would have worked was if Hitler had been able to develop his weapons program before we did.

We fought a 2 front war also and beat Japan with the Pacific front getting way less material than the European Front plus we were arming our allies at the same time.
