You are what your record says you are. Comparing five years at LSU they are virtually a matched set.
They’re both worse than Miles in that timeframe. So what you’re saying is Miles is better than Saban.
See how dumb that is?

Now post those two compared to Les……

This is absolutely Hilarious,

YES!! We're going to win 6 national championships with Coach O!

Quit crying and notice how many Bama had drafted that same year and look at their record since that draft.

Threads like this are yet another reason why I want the O era to be over with.

shame on you for insulting Nick.

The record, although important, is not valid in a comparison between O and Saban. O relies HEAVILY on the coaches around him. Saban develops and improves everyone from the Towel Boy to the OC. The only true way to evaluate performance is in retrospect. If O goes on to produce what Saban has since his return to Alabama, then compare away. IMHO O is not even close to Saban. Time will tell.
I was not evaluating performance and it is irrelevant what Saban has accomplished since 2004 nor what Orgeron does in the future. Plain and simple Saban coached 64 games and won 48. Orgeron has essentially won the same number in the same time span. PERIOD. All of this righteous indignation cannot change any of the validity of this.

And Coach O is going to win Nattys at 2 (two) different schools? NC's just magically follow Saban wherever he goes. Ever notice that?

He literally won a national championship DURING the pandemic, with a first year starter at QB.

Just saying .......

Perhaps, but Saban would have won at least 2 national championships between 2005-2007. Those teams were incredibly talented because of Saban’s recruiting.

I'm not saying Orgeron is anywhere near Saban as a coach.
However, a lot of people assume that Saban at Alabama is the same as he was at LSU, which isn't quite true. Yes, he won a title. Yes, I think he would have won more if he stayed instead of jumping. But he didn't.
He had a couple of seasons that were really not that great at all. He had some issues in his last season before leaving with player confidence. The fanbase was doing the same sort of "fire the guy" mumblings that we've done with every coach since Hallman. Just saying, if you want to compare Saban at LSU to Orgeron or any other LSU coach, the comparison is a lot different than if you take into account what Saban has done since.
You could really make the case that the most successful coach only based on his time at LSU was actually Les Miles, which is kind of mind-boggling.

Every other SEC fan base agrees with this and thinks we’d be fools to replace Ogre.

True, and that first year starting QB was a senior who had started multiple games the previous year, was throwing to a Heisman Trophy winner and another first round WR with a first round RB to carry the load. They also returned most of their defense. So, yes he had to deal with COVID but not the attrition that LSU and others had last season.

Maybe the record downvotes that you have received along with the replies can clue you in to how absurd your argument is.
Plain and simple O is the coach but has ZERO input on either side of the ball. When he has tried, Troy happens.
You bet your arse Saban coached and willed those early LSU teams to get better.
One coach left a mark. O just leaves a stain.

This may be the worst take I’ve ever seen on this site.
Ed Orgeron is Gene Chizik without the professionalism.

Saban left on his own volition; Ed will be forced to exit at the end of this year.
