Djokovic drops his first set of the tournament

So much for not dropping a set!

Good call by the poster on Tsitsipas. I didn't realize until this morning that he was matched up with Tiafoe in the first round.

So much for my $20 longshot.

Sir Andy is looking sharp. I miss mama Murray acting a fool up in the stands.

Up 2 sets to none and 5-0, and he’s going to lose this match.

That would have been such a brutal loss. Glad he was able to pull it out in the 4th.

I don't really care for Novak, but when the Big 3 have all retired I think he will be the one recognized as the GOAT. Crazy that as intense a rivalry as Nadal-Federer had 10-15 years ago when they were in seemingly every slam final and on pace to shatter all the records that it might actually be a late-charging Novak who passes them both right at the finish line.

He started charging ridiculously hard in 2011 and hasn't stopped since.

Sir Andy!

Gonna play a tired, beatable opponent in the next round, too.

Man, if Andy and Roger could make somewhat deep runs that would be something.

Yep.

For a long time Federer was seen as the unchallenged GOAT contender, but Nadal obliterated him on clay at then finally caught up to him on grass at Wimbledon in 2008 and then hardcourts at the Aussie Open in 2009.

It seemed Nadal might wrestle the mantle, then he has knee issues and Federer takes back a lot in 2009. Then Nadal comes back in 2010. Then Novak starts to come into his own in 2011 and then (over the last ten years) has slowly caught up to them in terms of accomplishments.

I don't think Federer has another slam in him, and I think Nadal might only have the French and that's not a sure thing anymore with Novak.

Novak has been playing at a #1 level for a while now, of course, but he was an afterthought when Nadal-Federer were at the peak of their rivalry around 2006-2010.
