When has Nadal cried like a bitch after winning a major?

I’ll take Borg or Sampras on grass over Fed. Hard court is a tough call but Novak has been dominate.

I don't think Borg is in that conversation.

Also, can we say that Fed is a better grass court player than Novak?

It's amazing that he only has 3 US opens.
Those slam final losses to Murray and Nadal between 2012 and 2014 after the GOAT 2011 season really set him back.

Yeah, it's sort of weird he hasn't had more success there.

Big 3 records against the Big 3:

Rafa: 53% (52-46)
Novak: 52.7% (57-51)
Smug: 43.3% (39-51)

Though Rafa has the slight percentage in this metric, Rafa doesn't have the H2H against both guys -- Novak does.

Also, Novak has 108 matches against them, to Rafa's 98 and Fed's mere 90.

In Novak’s defense, it would be 4 if not for a freak ball accident with a line judge last year. He was also up 1 to set to 0 against Wawrinka before Stan decided to go God Mode with his backhand in 2016.

I agree on the former. On the latter, putting aside that I think that French Final was the better example of "God Mode Stan", you can't really go down that road. It's a competitive sport and the other guy is there to win too.

See, e.g., Robin Soderling in '09 French or Del Potro in '09 Open. In both instances, the better player that day won the match.

Peak Sampras beats peak Fed on grass assuming it doesn't play like a hard court. Not sure Sampras beats Djoker with his return game.

Peak Sampras smokes them all at pre-2002 Wimbledon.

I never liked Pete back in the day because I was a big Agassi fan. But, there are few things I think now about him. One is that I actually feel A+ Pete is the best level of anybody ever. I know his career accomplishments are not there compared to the Big Three. I'm just talking about best on a certain day. There were days he was untouchable, even against prime Agassi. Also, there is a cliche about how you measure greatness by how much better someone was compared to his peers. Well, Pete almost doubled the majors of his closest competitor and was overwhelmingly the best of his generation. That never really happened through the Connors/McEnroe/Lendl/Wilander/Edberg/Becker years, although Borg was a bit of an outlier, I suppose. And, the Big Three all at 20 speaks for itself.

Novak is the leader of the pack on GOAT talk due to the head to head. I'm guessing he has total weeks at number one, too. A calendar slam would end all arguments.

Not an unreasonable statement, though peak Sampras on grass is the one I'm not sure about.
