His teachings, maybe? The words of the Christ Jesus, resonated and became a powerful "IDEA". Word, quite literally, spread, (went viral) and you how it goes.

The "Church", it depends.

So how did the Church totally take over man's relationship with Christ? And why do Christians identify so closely with their churches?

This is not all bad, but don’t mistake yourself, there is only one church. However there are many idiosyncrasies to worship based on preference. What’s required to be a Christian church is a small doctrinal list (though Mormons and JWs are on the outside looking in).

You cant strip away Jesus' divinity. He was here before Abraham and after.

Gospel of John Chapter 1 vs 1-5:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

Without Jesus, Abraham, nor anything else, would have ever existed.

The Catholic Church even goes so far as to say that if you don't follow their rules, you won't get into heaven.

That’s not true. Sounds like another Baptist or church of Christ myth

Yes, and he is dead and buried. Out of all of these so called prophets throughout our entire history, there is only one that is Risen.

Firm convictions you have...

Abraham merely believed in the future promises of Christ, which he himself (Christ) fulfilled, and it was counted to him (Abraham) as righteousness. Romans 4

Abraham is a major figure, but as all others do, his failings merely point to Christ’s perfection. Jesus is the focal point, the cornerstone. Without him the whole thing falls apart.

At the moment of His death on the cross, Christ was homeless, penniless, vilified by the masses, and abandoned by all of his followers.

And then He rose from the dead. That can have a pretty lasting effect.

I thought he was crucified pretty much in the nude?

I've always loved this board's definition of trolling - "any differing view."

Another option for you could be to shut the frick up and let people believe what they feel in thier hearts as you do. No one forced you to come in this thread and start bad mouthing something people believe very very deeply in and have done so thier entire lives. People tend to take it personally when you start calling thier deepest beliefs "myths" based solely on your own contrary disdain because you can't understand it. You've presented zero evidence on why its a "myth" you are absolutely here to troll and you should be ashamed.

How did Muhammad become so big? Buddha? When people become poster boys for a religion they tend to have a following. Add onto the fact that Europe was heavily Christian and they went off spred their ideas and beliefs all around the world you can kind of see why

Everyone worships something, but it’s all a shadow of the matchless, ineffable, Christ.

For example, proponents of the far left worship a "progressive" ideology that will leave them unsatisfied and inevitably eating their own. The same thing happened in 1793. Here we are again... yet Christianity has remained the same. Hmm.

My question has always been: "why do you believe in Christianity above other religions that came before and after it started?"

I'm here to present my opinion, just like you are. The OP asked a question, I answered it. You not liking that answer doesn't make it a troll. Any adult understands that.

The answer is simple. Christianity makes the boldest of claims.

Even if you don’t accept the idea that Jesus of Nazareth was who He claimed to be that is nothing short of astounding. So this leads to the obvious question, how is it possible this seemingly unremarkable man has had such a lasting and transformative influence on the world?

Equally perplexing is how Gary Chambers has 50k followers on Facebook.

Good post dude

Jesus rocked this world and that cannot be denied

It’s been over 2,000 year and no one has come close

I met some people that I think are badass but they don’t really shake it up like Jesus
