Duck season closed two weeks ago. Southern blizzard imminent.

No it's not. It was mid 20s here in northern E. Feliciana Parish last night. Happens multiple times every winter.

There is always a major cold/snow/ice event out there in the 240+ hours range on the models.
Almost always gone within a couple of model runs.

Aint that the truth, typical La, slapping mosquitos during duck season and freezing all spring. I hope if it does get real cold again that it'll get rid of some skeeters and snakes this summer.

"Dr" Josh Eachus is already cutting radio weather report recordings saying no snow, lows briefly dipping below freezing

He gets his nuts off to directly contradicting real data so it wouldn't surprise me if we're getting accumulating snow with temps sitting at 15 degrees and he says that.

I hope we freeze so hard it kills all the green that's still in the woods and marsh

GFS/EURO agree on a 1989 scenario.
The year Lake Pontchartrain froze. I remember my dad walking out onto the frozen lake in Kenner. My mom was screaming at him "get off the ice! You're such a stupid a-hole! If you fall in, we're not coming to get you!"
I think we have a picture of him on the ice somewhere. I need to look for it.

The January snow event thread was started on the 4th and it snowed on the 10th

If it's still showing up then, I will start to buy in. Being a weather weenie who reads a couple of different weather message boards, I have just seen this a million times where there is the big southern winter storm out there, people start talking about it, and then it disappears within a few days.
Heck, just Sunday and Monday the models were showing a big arctic airmass making it way down into the deep south (we're talking single digit lows as far south as at least Birmingham) early next week, and by yesterday afternoon the models had backed way off and now temps don't look far from normal.
