Nah, Dr. Josh Eachus will be able to carry the "no accumulations" banner for WBRZ just fine.

It seems the trend has been to hold it in the 7-10 day range and then push the cold out a few days once it gets within 7 days. Rinse and repeat. At least that's been the story for us in Tennessee. Last week it was showing an arctic cold coming down for us this Friday/Saturday, then early this week it got pushed back to Sunday Monday, now it's showing Wednesday/Thursday. Same with the Euro. It's to the point that I'll only entertain a possibility if it's showing it 5ish days out and then I'll only believe it when I see it. All the players are on the field to get some cold air to the south, but it doesn't seem to want to come below the Ohio Valley.

You're in Kansas. It would be noteworthy if it did make it into the 30s in February.

I used to love the cold but the older I get the more of a pussy I become and enjoy the warm 70's and 80's.

Texas would be an absolute shite show if this happens.

Also, GFS has a 12" snowfall total for Atlanta. T&Ps to all my Atlanta brethren if that happens. Get ready for Snowpocalyse part two

Why? So I can put on some Barry White and properly thank it for such a run?

The Euro and GFS have been throwing cold air south for a good week now, they just haven't been consistent on the time frame until the last few days hinting at another I20 party.

Quote from NOLA Meteorologist Zack Fradella:

GFS/EURO agree on a 1989 scenario.

Probably the worst case for us as we would be layered in ice, snow then frozen well into the teens for days

The cold air time period this run is crazy. Like an Exxon blowing up in 89 amount of time below freezing.

ETA: FFS the post right above me stole my thunder. I made that 89 exxon reference on my own SMH

Only reason why I'm halfway following is because GFS EURO and CMC all agree on it.

99% chance it still won't happen though.

I know your autistic like memory for weather things. Don't have to prove nothing to me.

With the Greenland block remaining, it's just a matter of beating back the SE ridge. W Canada has been cooking up some cold all winter, trapped above Pacific systems. This week finally uncorks it.

This 1989 scenario isn't crazy with the blocking that should be in place. Just curious if it can smack the La Nina fueled SE ridge.

What did this model say a week ago because it was supposed to be 28 as the low yesterday on the local extended forecast.
