quote:

Norm Chow was driving his car down in Redondo Beach on a Friday afternoon five years ago when his phone rang. It was a young coach calling to give him the news that he was getting his first NFL position coach job. The young coach just wanted to say thanks — again — to the long-time former offensive coordinator for helping jump-start his coaching career a decade earlier. Chow, never one to gush, beamed with pride as he listened to his old protégé.

Jake Peetz, the guy on the other end of that phone call, had just been promoted to Raiders quarterback coach. Fast forward five years from that day, and the 37-year-old Peetz’s career has just taken another big step forward with him getting hired as LSU’s new offensive coordinator. From working three jobs at a community college to training NBA players to seven NFL and college roles in nine years, Peetz’s path has taken a bunch of fascinating twists and turns that started even before Chow changed the trajectory of his coaching caree

It all makes sense

He also has ties to Lonn's family

In 2012, Jake Peetz was a young quality control coach with the Jaguars. The receivers coach on that team? Recent #LSU passing game coordinator Jerry Sullivan.

“He’s a hands-on guy, and he’s got an edge to him,” Sullivan said. “He’ll coach them hard.” LINK

I don't think ive heard anyone say he's a joe brady guy. He just worked with him and Joe said he could run that style of offense.

I haven't read that article yet, but he also was the QB analyst at Bama under, OC at the time, Doug Nussmeier.

That’s gotta be extremely fulfilling as a coach.

Has never called an offense. He will get his chance and I'll gladly be wrong. But a 37 year who never called an offense. Yall act like it's a homerun.

Chow also hired Jones at Hawaii. Said he called Chow one day to pick his brain on how to be a better coach, and Chow asked him what did he think about Hawaii. DJ said he hesitated because he didn't know who the HC was. Chow laughed and offered him the job, stating he was the HC. Small world of coaches.

Norm Chow is one of the most overrated coaches in the last 40 years.
