a place with a drive thru should in no situation ever keep a customer waiting 20 damn minutes. that's ridiculous! i waited for 30 once at the popeyes near there and i will never go back. waiting on fried chicken in the drive thru =/= waiting on fresh food in a restaurant. it's supposed to be fast. that's why you drive thru. you could burn $10 in gas just waiting on food.

That is not healthy. and gross. I understand wanting to save product and keep your food cost down but that is uncalled for. I lose a good bit on food cost but a good reputation is worth it.

There is this cool little switch in your car that allows all gas to not be used.. Its called the ignition switch. If you waited 30 min for chicken to fry there was a bigger problem at that popeys then not having chicken ready. Hell you can go to Burger King and wait 10 minutes for food.

I agree with you catman. I can't believe that people bitch about getting a fresh product. Hell like other posters pointed out, there is this invention called a telephone so call your order in ahead and you won't have to wait. I'd rather wait thirty minutes for something fresh than to be served immediately at a drive thru and be served something that has been sitting for six hours under a heat lamp. Hey Nik, you're producing a fantastic product so keep up the good work. My mom lives in the subdivision by your place and frequents place quite often. I haven't been yet but when I go home for a visit in October, I plan to hit your place.

First off I am sorry about that. Can you give me a time for this. I am trying to square away my night crew right now. We just hired a new night manager and last night he was not there. again I am sorry.

No problem...It was about 8:45 last night.

I'll be back, no worries...

She was VERY polite about it too, I really couldn't be upset...

The one time I was able to eat Frickin' Chicken, I loved it. I had to wait 10 minutes, but it was worth it. My only complaint, however, is that I was under the impression that they deliver. I've tried to get them to deliver five different times, one of those times was going to be a big order for my Tiger Weekly writers at a meeting, and they never answered the phone -- except once, but the guy said he was the only one there so they couldn't make deliveries.

Damn I love how things get resolved and everybody walks away happy. That's why I like this board better than the others. The only time that I saw things get nasty over here is when catman put down the Fleur. I have to agree with his doctoring up of a Tortinos though. You doctor up that frozen dollar pizza and you can get a pretty good finished product.

C'mon you cant put down the Fluer or Johnnys Pizza on this board. Both are sacred. Oh and you cant possibly say that a good po-boy should be served on New Orleans style french bread either.. I think that covers it...

Not enough turnover. Best bet is, if you know you want chicken call ahead. Only way to do it, cause they cook the food fresh.

ETA- I wouldn't classify Fricken CHicken as 'fast food' in my opinion, but then again Popeyes isnt exactly the speediest place either..

wow thanks. i had no idea that what that switch did this will truly change my life.

seeing as we live in la, and it's typically 90-95 degrees around dinnertime, i wouldn't want to sit in my steaming vehicle and sweat while waiting on my food. the point is, an establishment with a drive up window obviously implies speedy service imo and should take that as seriously as any restaurant not wanting to keep customers waiting.

yes, the popeyes thing was ridiculous. two cars ahead of me, and waited 30mins after i gave my order. and they screwed it up.

ive never had problems at frickin, but ive waited for cane's to cook my food numerous times. i know it does not take 30min to fry chicken. if i had to wait that long at frickin, i would not go back.

i agree but again, it doesnt take 30 mins to fry chicken. a 5-10 min wait while it is cooked is acceptable imo. "running out" of the only thing you serve shows terrible management. i have been to burger king and they "ran out" of burgers. i left and have not been back to that location.

i applaud nik for taking action to correct this problem, that is all that i would expect from a restaurant. i love frickin btw

And I would have waited last night for that...but 20 min is just too much IMO...

I think it generally takes about 15-20 min to fry a batch of chicken.. You cannot come close to comparing Cains to a BONE IN fried chicken place. It takes much longer to fry a peieve of chicken with a bone in it. Have you ever fried chicken? If you ate it after 5 minutes I hope you like blood.

Its its a 30 min wait why not pull into a parking spot and go inside and use their A/C? I still think the 30 min wait you had at Popeyes had more to do with it than no chicken. Hell it takes 15 min on a good day when the chicken is already fried and ready dont make those people move any faster they have a slow metabolism to see to...

not comparing, just saying i will wait while it is cooked. and i would think during dinner hours they would be constantly frying chicken.

agreed, but still a ridiculous wait. all popeyes take forever, but that was absurd. we only got tenders. they do not take more than 5 mins (i used to be a cook at a country club).

I wouldn't be pissed if I had to wait thirty minutes to ensure that my chicken is cooked. I went to a Popeyes in Avondale about twelve years ago. I ordered the two piece white. When I bit into the breast, blood squirted all over my mouth and face. It was gross and I never want to go through that experience again. That Popeyes is now shut down. Perhaps I wasn't the only one to have bitten into a piece of on the rag chicken. There are two types of meat that I want to make sure they are fully cooked before I partake. The two being chicken and the other one is pork.
