Rely on 2 day old articles if you like but im looking forward to bumping this exchange when an updated article comes out shortly. And for the record, this thing is nothing to worry about

Only way this is true is if the public officials outright LIED to the public when they said there were no reports of it in Monroe. If that's true, those officials should be fired because nothing else they say will be believable after such an obvious cover up on their part.

harris county in tx now reporting a case today as well.
maybe there's some national testing lab that just sent all these results back across the country today which is why they're all popping up at the same time?

Once it's official I'll eat my crow sandwich.
All I'm saying it that this type of unsubstantiated rumors about this virus is what's feeding into the hysteria.

People drive from Monroe to Dallas to fly all the time. Person could have traveled anywhere.
Exactly. People that reside in bigger cities aren't the only people in LA that travel.

I certainly hope Louisiana isn't affected but it's just a matter of time before the entire country is dealing with thousands upon thousands of cases and upwards of 100 or more deaths so to hope Louisiana won't be affected is just that - hope. It'll be here very soon I'm sure but I just find the sequence of events surrounding Monroe to be too odd to be believable.

The first death in California wasn’t in SF or LA it was in Roseville. First case was in VACAVILLE...it’s not popping up in the largest cities only.

y'all saw how easily that lawyer in NYC spread it to like 25 people? crazy how easy this thing is to transmit.
the 44yo dude in tn just got back from an international conference in boston so they think that's where he picked it up.

Is that the mother fricker who defied his doctor's orders to stay home and instead went to fricking galas and shite the same evening he was diagnosed? That bastard should be killed.

No that was a healthcare worker. The lawyer had attended a bat mitzvah and maybe other events prior to knowing he had it.

However, KTVE/KARD reached out to the hospital and the Louisiana Department of Health, who confirmed there is no case of the coronavirus in Monroe or Louisiana.

Here's the info from that case:

The first New Hampshire person to test positive for the virus ignored instructions to isolate himself for 14 days and went to the event in White River Junction, Vt., where he transmitted the virus to another man he came in contact with, officials said this week.

Should be more worried about your parents than your kids.
I've read that at least in the early reports kids are faring well against the virus, and they feel it may be because they are regularly hit with colds, many of which are other Coronaviruses. This could provide some resistance.
Either way the media fearmongering and public overreaction is unnecessary. It's essentially a bad flu. No need to hoard water like Hurricane Katrina is on the way.
