Nope. In the 2017 season (2018 playoff) Bama lost to Auburn & Ohio State lost to Purdue. That Purdue loss kept them out and put Bama in at no.4

Ohio State had lost to Oklahoma and Iowa that year. They beat undefeated Wisconsin to win the big 10 but had 2 losses. I don't think they even played Purdue that year.
