I don't disagree with you. Though Coach O did lose to two first-year coaches who we could have hired, and who both clearly had less talent on their team.

When Coach O puts together a competent offense at LSU I'll no longer criticize him on this site.

And I'm not going to pump up Coach O for recruiting well because Miles recruited just as well.

I will give him props for finding Burrow and Tracy. But Les Miles found plug-and-play players too. Coach O has Burrow. Miles had Mettenburger.

2019 is the year, excuses run out for the offense. LSU ‘s QB Joe Burrow and the nation’s no1. runningback say no problem.

He also inherited a bad offense with an average OC and not so great Qb.
Ed chose the OC (twice), not inherited, and QB Etling put up better numbers than Burrow.

I thought that inherited 2016 offense was record setting according to the propaganda machine?
Which is it?

Lol. Les Miles won more games in 15 than he did in 14. Wasn't allowed to finish 16.

So by your very own standards, the program was in an upward trajectory. It went down with the hire of ED, and he's now gotten back to the record that got Les fired.

Did they?

Very few teams in the nation compare with the talent LSU had on Defense.

LSU on offense returned three players who had started previously. I doubt many teams didn't have as much or more talent offensively.

Won't be the case this year on offense since LSU will return all but three starters - who were seniors.

We went 9-3, which is basically what the program has been at since saban’s recruits left the program
Actually that's about the average of saban's tenure here. Miles elevated it, then it dipped to back where it was on average with Saban, and it remains there

That's all I want to hear from the Coach O apologist on this site. That this is a make or break year. It will be a few more years before LSU has this type of experienced, depth and talent again. If the offense isn't light years better, then Ensminger needs to be replaced and that should be a serious mark against Coach O. It would be two fails at hiring an offensive coordinators.

He has literally won nothing of note. Not a game against his primary divisional foe, not his division, not his conference, not a playoff berth, and certainly not an NC. He went 5-3 in the SEC and recorded our first SEC loss to TAMU. Wake me up when he wins something.

After 12 years getting blown out by Ole Miss and Arkansas it is understandable.

We got blown out by them for 12 years? Could have sworn that we beat them on occasion.

Yeah and for damn good reason too. I’ll grant that it will be very important for Orgeron to get it right when it comes time to hire new OC and DC, but there absolutely does appear to be an upward trajectory at this time. If you can’t see the difference between the current state of the program and Miles’ last couple of seasons then you’re either blind or in denial. Hint for you... It goes a little bit deeper than strictly win-loss numbers.

He got lucky much like miles did in getting a good qb transfer,

Got lucky? I didn’t realize he did nothing to try to get Burrow on campus. I guess Burrow just called him up and told him he was transferring in and would like a shot?

What an idiotic fricking statement.

But but, I can make a change on my playstation in two seconds and go from winless to undefeated. That's the mentality of those assholes.
It's not going to change. They think if they post long and loud enough it will magically happen in real life football.

I meant that after the coach had been on the job for 12 years. Getting blown out by those two schools in a coach's first year on the job is NOT good. Getting blown out by them after having 12 years to build a program is really not good.

More often to talent than Florida? Yes. Mullen took team that went 4 and 7 the previous year and turned it into a top-10 team(all while beating LSU again). He took Franks, who looked like he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and turned him into a better quarterback statistically than Joe Burrow, who by the way went half the regular season without a passing touchdown.

This. We finally all agreed on something.

The question will be, what is a great season?

Is crushing a weak schedule with losses to texas ...and bama accepted?

Yeah it wasn’t the greatest wording in your post, not that mine are perfect either, but I knew what you meant. Anyone who actually thought you meant we got blown out by them for 12 years is some kinda dumb. I have a feeling though that he knew what you meant and seized in the semantics as a way to avoid your actual point.
