Like for a yearly salary...
If you have 3 years to play... I mean That’s like maybe 400K career earning that’s not even what teachers make in a fricking carrer.

Dennis Johnson makes more than that

I thought he was solid when on the field and healthy. His knee problems kept him off the field too much. Prolly leaving early cause only so much wear and tear left for his body. Don't think he will have a season where he is healthy for every game whether college or pros. If healthy, I think would start over any of the new guys.

HE had a really good year and you could argue he was LSU's best DL. He was the only one to consistently collapse the pocket

Yep. It's a bad decision no matter which way you spin it.

Want to put the knees not holding spin on it, that probably just means NFL teams will avoid him like the plague. That college degree would be a useful tool to have.

I think any player who grades in round 1 should go. The risk far outweighs any reward of coming back.

We start talking rounds 2-4, then you can look at individual situations. What kind of situation is the family in, etc. Then you factor the risk of return, with the reward of possibly improving draft stock by returning.

Below that...you should not enter the draft.

We have no idea how many years he will be able to stay on a practice squad. Maybe he's betting on himself and he may be right. Only time will tell.

Another year at LSU is wear and tear on those knees. It’s not spin. The kids trying to get a pay check before they are completely gone.

Can’t blame him, neither should anyone else

This isn’t (or shouldn’t be) a surprise. I think he has some worrisome issues about his health and probably figured it was time to try to get paid for play rather than put another year of wear and tear on his body in college. If his effective window is small, I understand the decision.

Certainly he isn’t a first rounder. He may not even be drafted. But getting anything without putting more wear on the tires might be worth it.

So you think an NFL team is going to grab a player who left college because he knows his time playing football is severely limited due to bad knees?

With Chaisson returning next year I bet him and Lawrence will have much stats also. We had no edge rush at all this year.

Same guy who advised Trai Turner? I remember a bunch of knuckleheads on here saying he would regret it.

Ed Alexander proved everything he needed to prove except that he could stay healthy. He has limited miles on those knees, and he probably feels he has to be paid for every mile left. But if he can stay healthy he is a ready-made NFL player right now.

Salary is not less than $7,600 per week, which equates to $129,200 for the season. Nice money, but not life-changing.

Da fuq? Not life changing for a kid from a single parent household in Tanghipohoa Parish?

You wonder if he was an academic risk staying qualified. He just said F it and decided to enter the draft.

My thoughts as well. Finals for the winter intercession happens tomorrow. I bet his hand was forced

My mom supported 2 kids by herself for less than half of that.

And he may as well. If he stays next year, that doesn't guarantee that he will play more than 3 years.

He is not garunteed the 129k. Only the money from each week he is on the practice squad.

If he is smart, he gets his degree now and for free.
