The last few years have had many non-topline players go pro, only to not get drafted.

Alexander had his moments, but did not have a stellar campaign.

Or am I way off?

I can’t see how anyone drafts him. He’s a huge question mark.

Prob afraid of the depth coming in behind him. I would be too with his injury issues and how much shelvin has improved along with the guys coming in.. I doubt he’d have as much PT as he did this year. Good thing he now has more than one league to try out for

That might be about the amount of guaranteed money he gets.

I've been on here saying White needs to go, but this is the total opposite.

The amount of money he can earn on the practice squad is a lot if damn money to a lot of people out there. For him, it may just be too good to pass up.

Or...you could come back to school, get an education you may very well need, get everything for free, and try to improve to the level of making guaranteed millions, and not have to hope to latch on to a practice squad.

Worst case, his practice squad dream is still there next season.

He could do that if he thinks his knees will hold up. I'm not in his shoes and that's his decision to make.

Seems with his knee issues that he’s only leaving because he knows his window will be shorter than most. People in the know have suggested several times that he needs to help his family. I hope he can get healthy and stick around a few years.

What was Sam Montgormery gonna do coming back? He was an all American in 2011. He was a 3 year starter. He was 4 years out of college.

He was a 3rd round pick.

He just needed to not frick up his career after he left, but he was fine leaving.

Dude had 4 years in.

but a player can't make a career being on a practice squad.

Salary is not less than $7,600 per week, which equates to $129,200 for the season. Nice money, but not life-changing.

And there's a short fuse on practice squad players: a player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons; he is eligible for a third season only under certain conditions.

Bruh, for some people that's more money than they can imagine.

You wonder if he was an academic risk staying qualified. He just said F it and decided to enter the draft.
