Sunday night, I will start all over again, but I won't be going back to that place, ever.
Those unhappy people there, they will be back there Monday Morning.
Damn, I win again !

What kind of business buys 21 tons of salt?
Posted on 4/21/18 at 10:44 am to auggie
Maybe...
A long time employee and friend of this who worked there recently died, was fired, demoted, etc and the mood of the plant was mourning or anger.
Maybe the plant had just announced layoffs or reduced hours and employees were scared and angry.
Maybe, they just had a plant-wide meeting and their benefit costs were greatly increased, benefits greatly reduced or there was a no wage increase for X amount of time announced and employees were not happy.
After 20+ years in executive HR management, there is 1 thing I know: when an entire mood and/or culture is negative, it’s a response to something personal and internal - never external and/or involving individuals they don’t know.

I did,I still had it,then decided to back into the dock door.
That's why I have white Privilege.
Been talking to my cousin, who is a pharmacist, we're working on a White Privilege Booster energy drink.
I am thinking,a good name will be " Do Something"

There is your disconnect in understanding.
Yes, it was 1 location, but it was at least 100 people that walked by me,and ignored me,even when I said "hey".
It won't happen to me again there, but it will, for somebody else.
And that's not even the issue,it's this: What can make that many people act like that?

Probably not a good idea to read motives into anyone’s coldness with you. It could be a million things and unless the person says, “I don’t like white people” it makes little sense to assume that’s the reason. Black people walk into this very situation their entire lives. That is, being the only representative of their race and running into callous individuals. I bet everyone here complains when some blacks attribute racism to all of these experiences. It’s just as tedious when a white person jumps to the same conclusion. Furthermore, there are posters describing how black women, black men and black children treat them as if they’re zoo animals. Black men, women and children don’t treat you any specific way. The ones you’ve met (or more likely SOME of those you’ve met) have treated you a certain way. Has anyone here ever said, “white women treat me...”? Why would anyone start a sentence that way? Even if every single black person did treat you a specific way that doesn’t mean it’s because they’re black. Causation, correlation and all of that. I’m preaching to myself as much as anyone. Racism is a pernicious problem and I think we all probably practice it more than we think through stereotypes and assumptions.

That is odd. Most of the time,it's black women who like to talk to me the most and joke with me
Same here. I get along with no person type 100% of the time but i find black older women, especially if they are a bit over weight to be generally the more talkative friendly strangers.

It's easy to see, that you have spent time thinking about this.As I have.
What I think on this situation, and probably should have said from the start: If I had ran into any 1 of those employees, away from that job, they would probably be like anybody else. At that place though, something else is going on.

Well it very well may be that It really was race. After a specific incident this week I was just reflecting on how bad I am about stereotyping people so to a large degree I really am preaching to myself.

We have to have stereotypes as human beings,it saves us time, and we have work to do.
Don't beat yourself up about it.
