No, but you sound like an a-hole. Trying to deliver. Making them have to work. The audacity.

No,I am where I belong, drinking whiskey, relaxing, waiting for my daughter to wake up,and trying to solve the worlds problems, before she has to do it.

Auggie don’t feel alone .........

For many years now the City of New Orleans has predominantly all black Americas working in city hall and if you are white asking for information, documents etc. some of these city employees directed to serve NOLA citizens act like you should not be citizens of THEIR CITY.......

It’s a fact that when the minorities gain POWER they also practice racism. ,!!!

WTF?

That's what I wear most of the time. It's all about being comfortable to me.
If I am comfortable, I can kick back and drive 500 miles without slowing down.
I don't need to get out of my truck looking like a bad arse tough guy, I am one.
I don't need to look like a cowboy. I was raised by real cowboys, and they didn't look like cowboys either.

Black women love me and I love working with them. Have always gotten along great.

All the best supply sergeants I had were black women. When I was an XO, I had a large and in charge black lady, and between her and the other black sgt’s competence and the total incompetence of every other race or gender for supply, I realized then and there that every company should have a sassy black lady as their supply sergeant.

True story.

So am I. I didn't understand the whole situation. I deal with people all over the country,of all types, and mostly don't have an unfriendly encounter, ever. but I did Thursday.

It seemed you wanted to tell a slightly theatric story and not purely nuts and bolts. So it’s hard to gauge what went down but.... seems a good chance of a couple options

1) you walked in right after something happened and folks were tense or the last driver was awful, or maybe was a good friend that got fired and you replaced him- you took it personal and became standoffish. While you complain about their escalating- you were right there with them.

2) you seemed to be very noticing of race dynamics and perhaps one of your friendly greetings came across condescending (not implying it was this bad but for easy example - use a lot of “boy” or “brotha” while rolling through the front lines... or something more subtle probably because I’m hoping you know better than to be that bad)

Whatever the cause it’s clear you felt a bit outsider rolling in and instead of ordering the coffee and playing nice you decided to escalate and use the restroom without ordering..... metaphorically speaking. They weren’t right but neither were you.

I did a load for them once.
It picked up at a little place outside of Burlington,Vermont, named Green Mountain Coffee,or something real close to that. It smelled good.

The workers there, they were really curious about me. I think, because my drawl is so evident.
They wanted to know all about The South and stuff.

You tell them bout all you can,but at the same time, letting them know what a beautiful place they live at. And it is.

I am an outsider, everywhere I go. I am an expert at it.
I just had this 1 anomaly.

Could be the case, and I’d refer to number 1 then (and appreciate that you took no offense to 2- as I was just spitballing ideas)

Only thing I’ll say is no need to go right to the “I’ll go sell your salt downtown” but just like they may have had a bad day perhaps it wasn’t your best. I’d have just kept it to “sorry! I’m a bit clumsy sometimes and didn’t mean to not follow your protocol”

That's what you are trying hard, not to get.
I wanted somebody to tell me the protocol, but they ignore me and won't speak to me.

frick making apologies, when I am doing things right.
I will never do that.
I gave them almost 1 hour,to make it friendly.
After that, I have to force it.
This is the real world.

Yep, this probably had nothing to do with race and everything to do with two people butting heads and starting a negative cycle.

Just diffuse it from the start, things go better.
