VP9 or VP40. Have both and love them. Occasionally sportsman’s wherehouse here in Slidell has them on sale. I picked up my VP 40 in grey for 449$ In December

If for conceal carry, get a FNS-9C.

Actually, the glock 17 is the one comparable to the vp9, not the smaller 19. I have a glock 17 gen3 and after new sights and ghost trigger, its more expensive than the vp9. I've always been a fan of glock but they haven't changed. I also agree w/ the person who suggest the Walther. Can't go wrong with any of those three so go w/ what feels best in your hand.

I have both & Vp9 easily. It is more ergonomic, better trigger and sights. The le edition comes with night sites and 3 mags.

Others i would consider would be the walther ppq and sig p320. The p320 is my favorite striker fired 9mm, but it had a recall recently. Sig took care of it swiftly though

This is all personal preference. Carson’s right about the trigger and sights, but my VP9 stays in the safe almost exclusively. Im much much better and faster with my 19 with Trihicon HD’s. Figure out a way to shoot them both before buying if you can.

I may be imagining, but I think the vp9 has a considerably higher bore axis. Therefore it recoils a tad differently. All this of course strictly based of my personal preference.

Glock if you like gritty triggers, bad ergos, bizarre grip angles, and garbage polymer sights

hold up. The 19 has metal sights, the 43/42 has plastic. The triggers isn't great the ergos aren't horrible. But, the gun is proven and a go-to choice of many.

However, having said that, the VP9 has a much better trigger and a more traditional grip angle. I love how the VP9 and P30 feel in the hand.

Both are top tier. I would go handle both and choose the one that feels best to the OP. As for the 10rd v the 15 rd, it's the same gun just with a different mag. So, don't think you are getting a smaller, more concealable, gun by going with a 10rd variant. That's for states with mag capacity limits.

It can be ordered with OEM steel sights, but almost every one ships standard with OEM polymer sights. Gen 3s with Austrian proof marks were the only ones to ship standard with steel OEM sights.

No doubt, I just like riling up the Glockers. I’d still take the VP9 over anything as far as stock pistols go. Don’t really have to do anything to it, unlike many others.

I still like the PPQ slightly better.

One thing to keep in mind also is if you have big hands (mine are pretty big) you may get some slide burn with the Glock 19. I have to adjust my grip with my 19 so the slide doesn’t burn my hand. I did add a Ghost disconnect and it improved the trigger immensely.

I’ve played with the VP9 but haven’t shot it. I do have a USP .45 but those are two totally different guns.

Sights on PPQ are truly awful, but that trigger is unmatched

Completely agree. I would never run those. PPQ with Trijicon HDs and the Apex kit will be my non-compact carry gun.

Just bought a G19 Gen 5 today and it feels great in my hand. The trigger feels pretty good as well. Go handle both and see if you can rent them and see which one you like.

If you’re going to shoot a lot and customize your pistol buy the Glock. If you do it will need a new trigger and I always recommend the zev mag well for better balance. Glocks are great because there is a slew of aftermarket parts for them.

The VP9 is the best handgun out the box I have ever fired. If you’re not going to customize then go with this.

I own both firearms and I like my Glock more, but it is heavily customized. A factory HK VP9 is a far superior handgun to a factory Glock.

Anyone have an opinion on, or range time with the CZ P10C? The hype leading up to its launch had it billed as the next in a long line of Glock killers.
